Napoleon in Russia is the centerpiece of a study of great retreats including Washington from Long Island, Chief Joseph across Idaho, Dunkirk, Stalingrad, Chosin Reservoir and Saigon.
Nice book covering a lot of topics that are not familiar to the lay person. However, the author really could have used some more detailed maps demonstrating what was happening. The chapter on Korea, in particular, was difficult to follow due to the large volume of "numbered" army units that are being tracked.
Having said that, I enjoyed most of the chapters and would recommend this for anyone who has an interest in military history.
