What?? Wow, felt like a dreamy road trip through working class America, but completely unparaphrasable bc it breaks language
Sears and kmart and salad bar and overpass and median next to atlas and meridian and vermillion and “meticules”
I have no idea what if any internal logic motivated the collages (or anything) it’s not for me to know
This was beautiful, mysterious, and expanded my mind

The last couple pages had what I considered strong enough work that I'd absolutely want to read more from the author. That said, experiments are experiments because how it'll turn out is unknown and it turns out I think of word collages as closer to visual art than literary medium, it was a tough read, no lie.

Jarnot's first and weirdest, fo sho. I mostly didn't "get it". But it's an interesting read and she does some visual stuff in this book that's definitely different from the other two books.

My first Lisa Jarnot book, so it will probably always be my favorite. For me it hits that sweet spot of pure invention that still taps into emotion and imagery.
