"I can't do it all. I can't be the perfect mother, the perfect Church leader, the perfect citizen..." In this perceptive and ispirational book, Robert L. Millet examines the human condition and concedes that none of us can "do it all." Our strength is finite, our emotional reserves are limited, and the world and sin grind us down.

Our hope he explains, is found in the strength of Jesus Christ, whose atonement not only provided the escape from death and sin but also remedies all our deficiencies, whether physical, emotional, or spiritual:

"There is power in Christ, power not only to create the worlds and calm the seas but also to still the storms of the human heart, to heal the pain of scarred and beaten souls.
"We must learn to work to our limits and then be willing to seek that grace, or enabling power that will make the difference."

Millet shows us in real-lfe terms the strengths the Savior can bestow upon us. The assurance we are given that by relying on Christ we can achieve the condition we all desire-to be truly "steadfast and immovable."

Chapters Include: Dealing with Difficult Questions, Pursuing a Sane and Balanced Course, Bearing Pure Testimony, Growing in the Pure Love of Christ,Relying upon the Merits, Mercy, and Grace of Christ; Building on the Rock of Our Redeemer.

"...and they began to grow up utno the Lord." (Helaman 3:21) The Lord calls each of us to do the same, to grow up in him, to mature spiritually. In contrast to the world's ways, gospel maturity is accomplished through submission and surrender. Those who are steadfast and immovable have received the Holy Ghost and taken the Spirit as their guide: they have committed themselves to a course of loyalty to the true Church.

It seemed that on every page of this book there was some wise counsel that I want to apply in my life. It is a book I will definitely read again...and again.

Lots of good counsel in here but nothing I haven't heard before. It serves as a good reminder of how to avoid deception and extremism.

when you are steadfast and immovable, you have received the Holy Ghosy and taken the Spirit for your guide. There is nothing wrong with asking questions and each of us is under obligation to search and ponder and pray about the issues ourselves. Also, I loved this quote: Constant review of basic princlples CONSTANTLY brings increased spiritual insight.
