Loving a military man isn't always easy and sometimes living with him is impossible.
Possession: A Little Harmless Military Romance Book 2
Deke Berg has been in love with Samantha for ten years. From the moment they met, they could never keep their hands off each other. Their marriage was volatile and short-lived, and they were both much too young. Now, though, Deke knows what he wants in life, and Samantha is at the center of his plans. Unfortunately, Samantha is wary of the marriage-espcially to a man who broke her heart.

Sam has always loved Deke. Being a former military brat, she thought she'd been prepared for life as a military spouse. But the long separations were hard, especially dealing with the stranger who returned home. When she asked him to choose, he left and she tried to move on. She doesn't know if she can handle that pain again, but after spending a night together in Hawaii, it's impossible for her to ignore him.
Old prejudices and painful memories aren't easy to overcome, but there is one thing Deke understand: Samantha is his woman, and he will do anything to prove his love and win her back.

Warning, this book contains: Another hard headed military man, a few embarrassing moments, nosey brothers, and two people too stupid to realize they are perfect for each other. It's Harmless and military, so for your own safety make sure there is ice water nearby. The author assumes no responsibility for overheating the reader.

My Review:

Aw, I really liked both of these characters. There's no denial here. They know they love each other. All their friends know they love each other. You, as the reader, know they love each other. What's in doubt is whether they can live Happily Ever After together. They tried it once and it failed spectacularly and the divorce broke both their hearts. As a result, I found this story to be incredibly sweet and sexy. They have chemisty. They have love. Now all they need is to find the faith in each other and in themselves to make it work.

Deke is a SEAL and last year he went out on a mission which went horribly wrong. As a result, he's had to face that his life in the SEAL's isn't really what he wants to be his number 1 priority. I liked how much he seems to have matured because of that mission. For me, that was a lot of why this book worked for me. He had a wake-up call and realized that Sam was his everything.

Sam has learned to live without Deke, but that doesn't mean she's happy about it. She's a strong woman, but grew up with a really awful example of a military marriage with her parents. I like how feisty she is although she's not afraid to show her emotions. And poor Deke...every time she does, he goes for a tailspin.

There were some incredibly sweet moments in this book and it was a highly entertaining read. I loved the addition of both their brothers to the story...Jonah and Mitchell. They definitely added some comic relief and fun to the story. Another great addition to this fabulously fun series.

Being an Army brat myself I can really relate but everyone can relate to loving someone so much but not taking their bossiness either, such os the story of Samantha and Deke. Deke is in the the service and even though Samantha was an Army brat the loneliness was too much so she would fight when he had to leave and he was too stubborn to see her side, but the love they have for each other is and strong if not stronger then ever after ten years and a divorce. Now that Deke is out of active life he is hoping he and Samantha can make a go of it except she moved. Loved the characters and the story my only complaint is I wish it was longer

Over the years fate has always seemed to have plans to bring Deacon and Samantha back together and this time it just may be for good. There are a few surprises in store for both of them which makes for a delightful story. The characters play well off each other, and the dialogue is sharp and full of wit. You can feel the chemistry between Deke and Sam from the beginning and their passion for each other is off the charts. Now if they could just figure out how to be a couple. There’s a lot going on in this fast-paced, steamy tale to hold your interest, and it’s one in which you will easily become involved.

Fight to win

Sam and Deke were great. It took them awhile to figure out they needed to talk more. I was glad they realized they both had stuff to work on. Also glad they had a good support system.
I wish I had a Fiona in my circle.

Two wrongs don't make a right

Two wrongs don't make a right, and these two were always pushing each other's wrong buttons.
Even when they were both trying to make it right, one hid it from the other.
Thank goodness for perseverance.

Yet another fine addition to the A Little Harmless Military Romance series. Even being just a novella (and if you know me at all, you know how I like my books long) I did not feel cheated. There was a clear conflict and resolution with plenty of angst to pluck the heart strings. The relationship detailed between Samantha and Deke was superb. I spent a good portion of the book wanting them to pull their heads out of their asses and see how right they were for each other. I love a book that pulls me in to the extent that I get violent to fictional characters. And Melissa Schroeder delivers every time! I was laughing at the drunken antics of their respective brothers. It always makes the books that much richer to meet the supporting characters and dream about which one I will get to meet next.

So much of this book makes it my ideal read. First of all there is the location. With each successive book the Ms. Schroeder makes it clear she loves Hawaii and passes that love onto us with the rich descriptions. She describes the feel of island life and the mentality perfectly. Not only do I feel like I am there but wish I was too. Second is the way she brings the characters alive. I can always relate to them, whether or not I have anything in common. And third is her uncanny knack for choosing just the right cover for the book. In this case, the female cover model is exactly who I picture Samantha to be form the descriptions. I don’t always like a books cover, but when it is good and truly seems to reflect the story or the characters, it just adds that other dimension that helps enjoy the book even more. So I would like to give a shout to Jenn Leblanc and her photo that made a 5 star cover!

Yeah I know, I am supposed to be reviewing the writing, not the cover. In my opinion, it is just part of the perfect storm that created this book. I am eager to see where she goes next in this series.

Are there benefits in second chances or is it actually just an opportunity to see just see how fortunate you are to have dodged that proverbial bullet? In Possession: A Little Harmless Military Romance Samantha Berg has spent the past ten years asking herself that same question, continuously using a mantra to convince herself to stay away from her ex-husband Deke with little to no success. While Deke and Sam may have allowed geography and the U.S. Military to separate them, when fate manages to land them in the same place nothing seems to keep these two from re-affirming the physical part of their relationship. And as we see, this aspect of their marriage vows seems to be pretty solid: every steamy love scene re-affirms that connection. Very few writers can create a love-scene quite like Ms. Schroeder: hot bodies, steamy passion, gentle caresses all combined to remind us that underneath the physical there is deep and caring love.

Naturally, Samantha and Deke have their little issues to overcome, but their love while evident to the reader is not so obvious to our hard-headed protagonists. Ms. Schroeder continuously reminds them, and us, that while the flying sparks are not an issue, the key is looking deeper below the explosive love scenes, which can be surprisingly tender, especially on Deke's part. Unfortunately, the easy rapport soon disappears and they are separated, intentionally and unintentionally, over and over again. Another reminder that it's living together permanently that seems to be the problem. I love how Ms. Schroeder decides to ultimately put Sam and Deke in a situation that forces them to either settle, resolve or walk away from their differences, this is when the sparks truly begin to fly – this couple can love and fight with equal intensity. The best romances are the ones in which the characters reveal their deepest feelings, both physically and mentally and we see both in equal measure.

The beauty of a Melissa Schroeder book lies in its easy connection to her past stories and characters. A few old friends make appearances in A Little Harmless Military Romance, and help Samantha and Deke in their journey to true love. At the same time Ms. Schroeder has the incredible ability to introduce new characters as if they were long lost friends, allowing new readers to pick up her books and read them with the same familiarity and enjoyment as her old fans. While reading the other books in this series would be enjoyable, it is not necessary before reading this novel. As for those readers who have been waiting to find out what has happened to their favorite characters, A Little Harmless Military Romance not only updates, it increases that circle of friends with additional new and interesting ones. I truly enjoyed this book, and have joined the ranks of readers waiting for the newest “installment” to see whose story will be featured next.

Deke Berg has loved Samantha for the past ten years. He loved her when they were married and he loves her even though they are divorced. Despite everything, fate keeps bringing them together. At a wedding for his SEAL buddy Deke runs into Sam and they cant keep their hands off each other. Deke knows that he has to get Sam back and when the opportunity to take a command in Hawaii how can he resist? Though, it would’ve been nice if he told Sam his plans because she has something to tell him and he’s gone MIA.

I love Deke. I loved Deke when I first read about him in Infatuation and I think he may be my favorite Melissa Schroder hero. (though I am a fan of Rome from ALH Submission) And Sam, I really liked her even though she was a bit dramatic at times but I totally understood.

These are two of the most stubborn people in the world. It is so clear that they love each other but they just don’t understand that they are meant for each other. It took all my effort not to yell at them and tell them to stop being ridiculous. I wanted Sam to let go of all her insecurities about not being able to make a marriage work and I just wanted Deke to stop trying to make plans without talking to Sam. I really just loved it though.

Favorite Quote

She looked at him and smiled. It was insane and it was really stupid, but just like always, she couldn’t resist him. All of the barriers she had built crumbled when she saw the curve of his lips. There was something wrong with her—with both of them—but she didn’t care. Without a word, she threw away all her worries and took his hand. He raised it to his mouth. Keeping his gaze on hers, he touched his lips to her fingers. “Come with me.”

Overall:

Melissa Schroeder’s A Little Harmless Military books are fabulous. There are shorter then the other Harmless books and focus on the relationship rather then adding the element of suspense. There are just two people trying to find a way to love each other. Oh, and we can’t forget the sexy time. I cannot wait for more Harmless Military books! I hope we get more of Sam’s brother Mitchell.

Deacon Berg is in Hawaii for his friend Kade's wedding. Enjoying a little rest before he makes a big decision about the next step in his career, he has had an offer to teach at Coronado and is thinking of taking the job. Deke knows something is missing from his life and he is not sure how to go about getting it.

Samantha Walters is the something that is missing from Deke's life, they were once married however ten years ago he walked away, but never stopped loving Sam. They have run into each other over the years and every time it is like they have never been apart. They drive each other crazy, but with Sam's commitment issues and the fact that when they were younger they could never get past the arguing, they just did not fight hard enough for the marriage.

Deke runs into Sam while she and her two friends are walking on the beach near the reception and it is almost like they had never been apart, they have always felt that strong attraction as they pick up from the last time they saw each other and enjoy a wonderful night together. Deke is only in Hawaii for a short time and as he is leaving he makes a decision that will change the rest of their lives - Deke has finally decided that he will never be without Sam by his side. He just needs to set it all in motion and hope Sam feels the same.

When Deke arrives on Sam's doorstep after six weeks, things are not as easy as Deke hopes they will be to gain the future he wants. There are several obstacles standing in the way of their happily ever after and we watch the roller coaster ride as they work through them to the end.

Melissa Schroeder never disappoints. Her books are always full of fun, laughter and love. I enjoyed this addition to the Harmless series about the military men and women and their lives. I loved seeing old friends and meeting new ones, looking forward to more stories that include these wonderful characters.

Possession is the second instalment of the A Little Harmless Military Romance series and is Deacon Berg and Samantha Walters' story. They married ten years ago and after a year of fighting between hot passionate moments, Deke would leave to go off on missions with the SEALs leaving Sam behind and when it was decided that marriage wasn't for them, both were left heartbroken. Although they each moved on and had attempted to have other partners, when it came to D/s play they could only trust one another and whenever they bumped into each other, the sexual intensity between them was at boiling point and neither one was strong enough to walk away.

Has fate got some part in bringing the two together as one celebrates a wedding and the other moves to be with their best friends in Hawaii? There is definitely a pull that keeps bringing them together and after a horrific last mission, Deke has finally decided what he wants and will do anything to get it, only he wasn't expecting the surprise that Sam has for him, it's totally life changing.

Possession is a quick easy read, it has everything you would expect from a Melissa Schroeder novel, sexy military male Doms, strong female Subs as well as lots of humour and hotness that will satisfy all Harmless fans out there. Deke and Sam's story is endearing and their chemistry is off the periodic table. There is a feel good factor about this book and no doubt each reader will finish reading Possession with a satisfied smile on their face. Ms. Schroeder has the ability to create interesting characters that you instantly love and want to know more about. This book has such characters and there are some sub plots that could potentially lead to other stories. I am definitely looking forward to reading more from the Harmless Military Romance series.

In Melissa Schroeder's latest release in her A Little Harmless Military Romance series we return to Hawaii to try to reunite former married couple Deke and Samantha who never fell out of love and have trouble keeping their hands off each other whenever their close to each other. Not only do we see their struggle to put past misunderstandings behind them, but we get to see many secondary characters from previous books as well as meeting new and exciting characters with their own paths to love starting out rocky.

Deke is a strong willed hero who always tried to do what he thought best. After a recent mission went bad he realizes he doesn't want to waste another minute away from Sam and goes after her wholeheartedly. He's the epitome of heroic and sexy to boot. His actions showed a more thoughtful and mature partner in his relationship with Samantha. Samantha seemed young and easy to anger in her interactions with Deke. While I adored his character, I found her a bit melodramatic and overly emotional, which left me annoyed by her at times throughout the story.

Like all of Ms. Schroeder's works, the sexual interludes are nicely spaced throughout the story and seamlessly blend with action outside the bedroom. The sexual interludes were both sweet and sexy with a bit of lite BDSM play. For people that proclaim to be members of the BDSM community, this action is definitely on the light side so those who are put off by that subject matter need not worry.

This was a straight forward pleasant read with no big misunderstandings. The hero is extremely likable and delectable and went above and beyond the call of duty to make the woman he wants happy. Many secondary characters are introduced that have me excited for future books in this series with the subtle set-ups seen here. All-in-all, another satisfying installment to a series ripe with promise!

KcLu's review posted on Guilty Pleasures

Possession: A Little Harmless Military Romance Book 2 is my first book by Melissa Schroeder, and yet again thanks to Guilty Pleasures I have found a new author to devour. This is a wonderfully written novella. My biggest pet peeve is when a novella is rushed because of its length and Possession, is did not feel rushed.

This book is a wonderful quick and steamy read!!

Deacon Berg is a Navy SEAL, but something is missing from his life. He has never stopped loving his ex-wife Samantha Walters, and yet again they have run into each other. Each time they have done that in the years since their divorce they can’t keep their hands off of each other. In bed he is the Dom and she is the sub, but out of bed she fights tooth and nail at every turn out of fear brought on from an unhappy childhood. For Sam being a military brat of a father that gave up on life and her family after retiring, makes being in love with a Navy SEAL hard as hell, BUT Deke isn’t giving up on her so easily this time. Deke is given the offer of his dream job teaching new SEALs at Coronado, he gives that all up to take an assignment in Hawaii to be near Sam. But can he get her to accept him, and let go of her fears?? Will she open her heart and life to him, and take a chance on the future with him??

I read this book without reading book one, and it didn’t cause a problem. I will be going back to read book one. I fell for this couple from the beginning, and they didn’t disappoint! I love not only their sexual chemistry, but their passion for everything! Can’t wait to read the rest of this series, because the supporting characters are absolutely great too!! I highly recommend this book!!!

Deacon Berg & Samantha Walters have been in a heated love/ fight/ and more love relationship for 10 years now. The two can't seem to get over the demons that keep apart. Falling in love at a young age, Deke was a Navy Seal with on a Mission who wasn't prepared for the life that Sam and he were destined for. And Sam had so many feeling on failed marriages, that she never gave her own a chance. The heat that arises between the two at Kade & Shannon's wedding is nothing new, but it starts things in motion that makes gives us a few shocks along the way.
I have to admit, starting the book, I wasn't sure I would be so drawn into Deke's story, but as I read on, his character became so sincere. The Seal in him didn't override his love for Sam, and it just took a while for that to show (like most men!) But this story wasn't one who let the blame fall all on the man. Sam came to realize her part in the destruction of the relationship. Once that was cleared up, they were able to work towards the important things and Melissa Schroeder did an excellent job of getting them there.
For someone who hasn't read the A Little Harmless Military Romance first book Infatuation, I would recommend it for the first glimpse at Deke. It does give some insight into how he still feels about Sam before the meet again in Hawaii.
So I personally fell in love with the Deke character. There was something so geniune about how Melissa portrayed him.
One of my favorite quotes from Deke:
"Did you go out right after we broke things off? Or did you go months thinking you had just lost the most precious thing in your life?
It was like that for me. I screwed up by walking out the door so many times."

Deke Berg has only been in love once and that was with his wife. Too bad they ended up divorced. Deke is a committed military man and unfortunately his wife couldn’t handle the never there lifestyle and when he was there they fought more than made up. Deke would give anything to feel that kind of love again. Now that he’s leaving active duty for a desk job he sure would like to have his wife beside him. How fortunate for him that he spot’s her at a Hawaiian wedding.

Samantha Walters loves her teaching job in Hawaii the only thing that could make her life complete would be love. But Sam hasn’t felt true love since her husband. When she sees him on her island her body takes over before her brain can make her run in the other direction. Passions ignite bringing two former lovers together once again but will it be enough this time or will their love fizzle out once again?

Hot Damn Melissa Schroeder does it again! Possession is bursting with intense sexual attraction and a highly emotional plot that will have you melting. These two made me want to scream and then swoon. I swear I got chills when Sam and Deke first saw each other in Hawaii. I could feel the longing and anticipation through the pages. I just love where Ms. Schroeder takes these characters in Possession. I also love the secondary characters they made me laugh so much. Sam’s brother and her best friend for instance offer plenty of laughs and sexual tension of their own. I can’t wait to read what happens next with all of these characters!

What’s hotter than a Navy SEAL? I think it’s a Navy SEAL in love.

Deacon Berg has been in love with his ex-wife, Samantha, since they met ten years ago. That’s never been in question. But, he knows that when they were married they couldn’t stop fighting with each other. They are older now, and when Deacon sees her at his friend’s wedding in Hawaii, he’s sure that they are now meant to be with each other. Convincing Samantha of that is not going to be as easy.

Oh, I loved this one! POSSESSION was sweet, erotic, and yeah, a little funny too. Deke and Sam were so perfect for each other, but also so stubborn, I wanted to bop each one of them upside their heads a few times.

The secondary characters were great, the setting was perfect (how can Hawaii not be), and I didn’t want the book to end.

POSSESSION is the second book in the The Little Harmless Military Romance series. I really love this spin-off series to Melissa Schroeder’s Harmless series. Unlike Harmless though, these books focus on the romance and don’t have the suspense and BDSM in them. While I have loved both series, I appreciate them more for their differences.

So, POSSESSION was romantic, fun, and very sexy. I sat down to read this, and didn’t look up again until I was finished much to the chagrin of my husband and kids. But, when I sit down to read one of Melissa Schroeder’s book, she gets traps me in her world in me every time!

Everybody knows a couple that can’t stay broken up. They love each other but can’t seem to make it work. Deke and Samantha are that couple. They were married but found that while explosive passion in the bedroom is a great thing passionate explosions outside the bedroom - not so good. Older and a little wiser they meet again when Deke attends a wedding in Hawaii. Deke is a Navy Seal and being married to a military man isn’t easy (I know that from personal experience). Sam is a military brat who was scarred by her parents less than successful marriage. After hooking up at the wedding Deke has to head back stateside but puts in for an assignment in Hawaii to be better in position to win back the only woman for him. Can Samantha and he put the past behind them and forge a new future?

This was an incredibly quick read. I read it in one sitting and then read it again. Having been a military brat Melissa Schroeder speaks from having been there. Having been in the military and a military wife this book hit close to home. Possession is another wonderful addition to Ms. Schoeders’ world of sexy alpha men and the women who rock their world.

There is nothing “Harmless” about this Military short by Melissa Schroeder. It contains a little BDSM, a lot of HOT sex and emotional highs and lows by both Deacon and Samantha.

They were married, but she couldn’t deal with his being gone, so when she told him to leave, he did. They both still love each other and every time they see each other, they can’t resist getting together. He hears her voice, he gets a “hard on”, she sees him in uniform and knows they’ll wind up in bed. They haven’t seen each other in a couple of years, and things get very interesting.

I love the interaction in this book between all the characters. His friend’s stand behind him, her friends want him, if she doesn’t or they’ll settle for one of his friends. And the setting is in Hawaii, where all of our Harmless books are set. What could be more perfect?

Deacon and Samantha both seem insecure, but they do love each other and if they try…with a little help from their friends and family….You will just have to read the book!

Melissa does an AWESOME job working everyone in his or her rolls. The emotions run High and I loved this book. This is a short novella, but well worth the time to read it.

It seems like love isn’t done with Deacon Berg and Samantha Walters. After once being married, Deke and Sam’s hearts find their way to each other once again. As Deke attends a wedding in Hawaii, these two past lovers meet and their chemistry erupts and sparks fly!

POSSESSION was a very quick read that held a lot of heat and just the right amount of angst. After some great love scenes, Schroeder delves a little deeper and puts her characters in a situation that will test their love for one another. As a military brat herself, Sam knows the difficulties that come with being with a military man. But she isn’t ready to give up just yet. As their love is tested, readers read of a romance rekindled and it’s nothing short of steamy! Schroeder delivers yet another story that will sizzles the pages and leave you wanting more.

Samantha & Deke were married ten years ago but they could not make work. They were not ready.Sometimes you have to go through fire to really know what you want and need Deke Berg has. He now knows what he has to do to get Sam back. There has always been "Heat" and Love between them but that is not enough. They run in to each other in Hawaii, Deke is there for his friends wedding and Samantha now lives there to Deke's surprise. The universe has brought them back to each other why should this time be any different.Oh but it will if Deke has any say in it , he wants Sam in his life for keeps he knows that now. Now just to convince Sam of it.When they see each other you better not be to close or you will get burned! You will need your fan and ice to cool your self down. It will not be easy for them but why should it life is messy. This is a romance to enjoy. So enjoy it I know you will as I did.

Another great addition to this series. Imagine you married the perfect person, but neither of you was really mature in the beginning. You divorce, but keep bumping into each other for ten years. TEN YEARS!! And every bump causes massive fireworks. But one of the participants has been through something horrible (we still don't really know what), and he's willing to work harder for what he knows could be perfect.

This was a great story about reunited love. I liked that Deke didn't give up Samantha even though she started being kinda bitchy. :-) In the past, that might have been a trigger for him to move on again, but this time, he was sure what he wanted and stuck it out.

I really want to know what's going to happen with Samantha's brother and her roommate. They doth protest too much. :-) And of course, we have to find out ultimately who is going to bring Mal to his knees. Cuz you know it's gonna happen.

This was in one of my goodie bags at a conference, so I gave the new-to-me author a whirl. The writing was good, so the pages turned quickly.

I admit, though, I was overwhelmed by the sheer number of characters in such a slim volume. Yes, I realize it was a Book 2, and I hadn't read Book 1, but it felt like someone new was introduced in every chapter. There were just too many characters floating around, and I got very frustrated trying to remember everyone.

(Sort of Spoilers below)

The BDSM aspect of the book (no mention of this in the blurb) didn't bother me, as such, but it didn't feel integral to the story or to the characters. And I'm not a huge fan of "unexpected pregnancy" story lines, or female characters who we're told are strong, only to get all emotional and weepy for the majority of the story.

Judging by other reviews, the author and her various series have a big following. She just isn't for me.

Melissa Schroeder’s Military books are a spin off of her A Little Harmless series, but focusing on Military heroes and the women who love them. This is beautifully done in this novella with the relationship between Navy Seal Deacon Berg and school teacher Samantha Walters. They’ve loved each other for ten years and won’t let a failed marriage keep them apart when they realize they can’t live without each other. Ms Schroeder sucked me in from the first scene and I fell even more in love with these two as the story went along. The supporting characters are wonderful and hope to read their stories sometime in the future. If you like hot stories, with hot military men, then these books are for you. Pick it up, give it a try and you won’t be disappointed.

This was a great read.

Quick, scorching, addictive.

Deke was a hottie. I'm a sucker for military men. The uniform, the muscles, the structure and discipline. Yummo. But Deke also had a big heart and it only beat for Samantha.

It was a rekindled love story and I could feel the connection and the emotional turmoil the entire way through it. And did I mention the sexiness? It was vera nice.

I felt like I was a part of the story with the great way it was written and I devoured it in a few hours.

There were glimpses of a lot of other characters and each and everyone has intrigued me enough to want to read more.

If you are looking for a fast read with some warmth between the sheets and a strong love between the protagonists, I would recommend giving this a go.

Deke and Sam have a long history married to young, but when they see each other they can't keep their hands off each other. When Deke goes to Hawaii to Kade and Shannon's wedding and runs into Sam they fall into bed again. Deke has decided he can't live without her and he goes back to the mainland to work things out to move to Hawaii to get her back as his wife. He feels they are older and can make it work. Little does he know Sam got pregnant the night of the wedding, he has been ignoring her calls to try and keep his secret of moving there to be with her. Once he gets to her and finds out what all is going on he is more determined to marry her again, but she wants to fight him on it even though she wants it too.

Great love story and a hot romance!! Love it!!

Deke and Sam have played round and round for years, they married young and can't stay away from each other. This isn't their second chance, this is the umpth'd time they come together

But this time is different, because Deke is different this time, he has had enough of the merry-go-round and when he meets up with Sam this time, he recognizes it as soon as it happens

There are lots of things that make this story push forward, but Deke stays steady through it all, and that is what makes the story and the book. The cast of characters around them, well they are some of the best supporting cast in a while. Nearly a perfect grouping of different personalities to help our couple through all the things they need!

I was interested in Deke's story when I read the first book in the series. Possession felt more like a contemporary romance, than an erotic romance. After reading book 1, Infatuation, which had some smoking hot sex scenes, I was expecting Possession to be sizzling! The sex scenes were okay but not as hot as I thought it would be. And something was missing from Deke's character that made me like him in the first book. I can't quite put my finger on it. I found myself more interested in the supporting characters than Deke and Sam's relationship. Either way, the book was okay but not as good as the first one. I'm definitely looking forward to reading Mal's book.

I love Melissa Schroeder. She's my go to author when I need new 'steamy' fix. This was a little milder than some of her stuff - which does NOT mean there aren't some great scenes. But this was a sweet story with lots of romance ribboned through it. I love her new Military series.

Now I have to decide what to read next from her collection (considering I've read about half of what she has written or more) :-D Thumbs up!

This book was supposed to be about a divorced couple dealing with the issues that lead to their divorce. Instead they just had sex, said sorry never really discussed how they were going to change and made up.

When a huge issue in their marriage comes up, the heroine is made to feel like she is being overly emotional. Even though she is not and her feelings where completely justified. But nope, he didn't hit you so he's perfect!
