A Dictionary and Glossary of the Koran

Rate this book
A thorough familiarity with the Koran is essential to the study of Arabic thought and literature; all readers attest to its purity of style and elegance of diction, and its authority among believers is so great that most works by Muslim writers abound in quotations from the Koran or allusions to its precepts. This helpful guide permits everyone to understand the Koran. It lists each word under its verbal root, grouping words without roots alphabetically, and providing numerous explanations of the text. It assists beginners in mastering some inevitable difficulties and helps more advanced readers of Arabic to resolve problems. Unabridged republication of the classic 1873 edition.

I really like this book a lot. It was recommended by one of my teachers, and it helped me greatly in understanding terms of the Quran, and the origin of where each word in the Qur'an came from. Very well written.
