The Apple Tree's Discovery

Rate this book
A little apple tree in a forest of oaks begs God for stars like those glimmering on the branches of the great oak trees beside her. As the seasons pass, she learns to appreciate her own gifts and realizes that it's possible to find a star in each of us.

What gifts has God already given you?

The apple tree begs God to put stars on his branches, neglecting to see the good things that God has already given her.

Sweet story, followed by great conversation.

The illustrations are really lovely, and I actually wasn't sure while reading the book what the ending was going to be.

The tree talks to God (who remains ungendered! as does the tree! huzzah!), but otherwise there isn't anything explicitly Jewish about the text (the book is published by a Jewish publishing company).
