I received this as a Christmas present and I am certain the giver did not realize this book is for children- elementary to middle school age.

It is a solid introduction to the ancient world with a focus on Greece, Rome, and Egypt. The writing is kid friendly, it is loaded with pictures and photographs, and it suggests different crafts for kids to try as they learn.

This is a pretty good intro for young kids.
