Friendship is the underlying subject as the beauty and dangers of bayou life are depicted in this, the very first volume in the landmark series. A curious crawfish, Clovis always wants to know why and what things are. He wonders why his bayou is called Tail of the Frog, when frogs dont even have tails. Bertile Butterfly couldnt care less-shes interested in only one thing-flowers.
Clovis (pronounced [CLOE-veese]) Crawfish is a...well...crawfish. He lives in a swamp in Louisiana and has adventures with a supporting cast of wild animals.
All of the books in this series are very cool and when you read them you can learn about Louisiana and learn some Cajun words.
Recommended, although most non-Cajuns will get the pronunciations of a lot of words all wrong. The rest of us will try to forgive you.
This story felt like 3 stories in one and they were a little random to each other I felt. I like when children's books follow one storyline at a time. 3 year old wasn't as interested in this Clovis story as others
