I am a huge fan of Barbara Metzger's work. Neither of these have the humor that is found in many of her books, but I enjoyed them both very much. I especially like the way the RUNNER emptied out his house, thanks to the EARL and Duchess in the 1st book. I also very much like the entire concept of giving the unconscious girl the chance to redeem sinful Earl in order to save her own soul

A SUSPICIOUS AFFAIR - I did not enjoy this story because it seemed overly-long and tedious.

AN ANGEL FOR AN EARL - This story is about an angel trying to save an earl from going to hell. I thought it was clever and entertaining without being cloying or too-cute. I thought this was the better of the two stories.
