Rosemary Wells is an American writer and illustrator of children's books. She often uses animal characters to address real human issues. Some of her most well-known characters are Max & Ruby and Timothy from Timothy Goes To School (both were later adapted into Canadian-animated preschool television series, the former’s airing on Nickelodeon (part of the Nick Jr. block) and the latter’s as part of PBS Kids on PBS).
Ruby, the older, sensible sister, and Max, the mischief maker, are at it again. It’s Ruby’s birthday and all Max can think about is the presents. The party means nothing to him. It’s the presents which command his attention.
As usual, something funny comes from it.
Before this was a TV series, there were books. Get these and read them to your kids. You can’t help laughing at Max’s antics. My favorite (and my kids’) was when Max had to clean up his room.
It's Ruby's birthday, and she is having her party. But, all Max can stay focused on is "Presents!". He does everything in his power to make present-opening time come sooner.
After Ruby opens her presents, Max runs off with all her wrapping paper. But, when he returns, she will see what the sweetest gift of all is.
This is a fun birthday story. I like the Max and Ruby stories. Max had a sweet present planned for Ruby and couldn't wait to give it to her. It was a fun and sweet story.
