This is a fantastic book. It is an extremely good and useful book for anyone who seriously wants to take his/ her editing up a notch. In fact, I would say that it is an indispensable book.

The layout is fantastic, and the examples that they have shown in the book are really good. They provide the foundation for anyone to experiment with, and to learn.

What I like also, is the last section, where Scott and his team actually show how the blend modes work. I would suggest that a reader go to this section, and scan it. Then, after he / she has experimented with the blend modes, to go back and look at them in detail.

There is a rich bibliography of websites and resources for further study and examination.

Kudos to Scott for bringing out a fantastic book.

while, I did learn a few new tips I do wish Valentine would've concentrated on blend modes for one specific group ie. photographers instead of every group that may use Photoshop.
