About the author

Dian Hanson (born November 2, 1951) began her publishing career as an American pornographic magazine editor, historian, and occasional model, helping found the 1970s hardcore journal Puritan, then moving on to Partner, OUI, Adult Cinema Review, Outlaw Biker and Big Butt, among others. She was most famously the editor of Juggs and Leg Show sexual fetish magazines from 1987–2001.

I gave a 5-star rating to this book because I appeared in it — three pictures of me, or at least of my butt — pages 18, 110, and 128-129. Admittedly they were taken in 1963. I didn’t even get a commission for having my picture included and I had to buy the book at full price in order to see which photos were included.

Can you really go wrong with this as a coffee table book? The pictures are great, the essays are interesting, absurd and kind of hilarious and it has a great mix of vintage and contemporary photos. It's not award winning literature but it's is a fun book to own.

Take it for what it is... I think the low reviews are from people who assume too much or haven't even picked it up. It's a coffee table book and definitely funny/fun to talk about. Probably not something you'd want around if you have kids, though.

Like Playboy you'd read this for the articles..... and such nice articles there are.

So... I'm a single guy in my thirties.... And this is quite a fun read. The photography is high quality, the articles interesting and the progression from the fifties till now is a good contrast in both attitude and photography technique.

I mean, there is a female butt on every single page. That said, I was kind of disappointed as I was expecting something more artsy from a Taschen book. Most of the photographs in the book feel like they can easily be found online. I would have enjoyed seeing some older pictures mixed in, as well as butts that don't necessarily fit society's standards of beauty. That's right, I'm using Goodreads to say that a hairy butt crack on a woman is nice to see every now and then.
