We can never get enough Berenstain Bears. Papa Bear goes on a hunt for an old honey tree and the Good Deed Scouts come along to help. Lucky for Papa the scouts are there to help him out of bind after bind. Cute and fun. While a bit unbelievable that Papa would be so silly. It is great to see encouragement for younglings to help out. The Living Lights and Good Deed Scots are always fun.

I have a son who is truly a reluctant reader, and he shys away from some of the basic beginner readers because they are too boring! And he is right, some of them are just not very thrilling when you can't use many larger words. The Berenstain Bears though are a different story, always full of adventure and fun. I did have to help him with some of the larger words, though geared for a 1 reading level, it never fails that there are some harder words within the text. I don't even pay attention to the number listing for the reading books anymore, they are so subjective. Cute stories, BEAUTIFUL illustrations in the true Berenstain Bear tradition!!
