Just a little about me: I was born in Manchester, NH but live in Castaic, California with my husband, and 2 sons. I have fond memories of Manchester, but have made California my home. I earned a BS in political science from California Baptist University in 1995.

I have been writing since I was 5, first making homemade comic books. Now, I work on creating short stories and novels. I spent 11 years in the US Army and over 7 years in Germany. Writing is a passion that still challenges me.

In A Polish Heart, Darrin Riverton, an architect from Rhode Island travels to Warsaw, Poland to consult on a stadium project. He meets Sofia, his interpreter at the airport and finds her attractive, honest, and charming.

They find they have many things in common. He is a gentleman, opening doors and watching out for her safety. They share the same religion and views on how to live a devoted life. Her family and Darrin like each other as he is accepted into the closeness of her caring family. In the end he is faced with a decision to return to the United States or stay in Poland and work for the company that he came to consult with and make a new life in Poland following his faith.

This is a great short Christian story full of strong family values.

This is a fun and sweet tale of an architect, Darrin, who's family and job is in the USA. He is sent on a job assignment to Warsaw, Poland where he meets his translator, Sofia, at the airport. He is immediately taken with Sofia. The more he learns about her family, her faith, and her traditions, the harder he falls for her. She is afraid to pursue a relationship with Darrin because Sofia feels that he will set up her for a fall when he goes to return The States. The conclusion of the story is predictable, but gently and wonderfully done so.

“A coming of age story”

Architect Darrin Riverton travels to Poland on an overseas assignment. His translator and guide, Sofia Buracynski, is the woman of his dreams.

He admires her love of family and traditions. He yearns to be as faith-centered as she is. During his week in Poland, he falls for her.

But his parents and career are back in America. With an ocean and two cultures pulling them apart, what could possibly unite this couple?

It was refreshing to read a sweet romance. I particularly enjoyed the international setting and the Bible verses sprinkled amongst the prose.

If you like Romance, you will like this book. I read it because I wanted to get the flavor of another country. But all it has is romance, and that is not my thing.
