I enjoy listening 🎶 to Tonya Kappes books 📚.
Maggie has lost her job in New York City and her fiance has left her. She has returned to Grandberry Falls to the family and friends. It does not look good but things come to a happy ending 😀 with love 💘 and a future.
I would recommend this series and author to 👍 readers of romantic family and friends relationships adventure mystery novels 👍🔰. 2025 👒😀💘
Maggie's story continues in this book. With everything in her life turned upside down - no fiancé and no job - Maggie goes back to Grandberry Falls. She is forced to figure out what and whom she really wants. The pacing of this book is excellent - the tension builds right to the very end.
Grandberry Falls has quite the mess on their hands and of course Maggie is at the center of it. Is Maggie getting married? Is Mitch getting married? Are they getting married to each other? So many superstitions! Friendships that need repaired; get repaired. And that one grandma that keeps holding out to get everything the way that she knows it is supposed to be....if only everyone would just listen to her in the first place. Such a great read! I wish there was more to go with this series.
Maggie returns after her bridal shower in Grandberry Falls to find that she no longer has a fiancé, an apartment or a job. She heads back to Grandberry Falls to regroup. Not everyone is thrilled since Maggie had made a point of moving to NYC after law school and never looked back. Maggie learns her grandmother’s property might be in jeopardy and will need to use all her skills to save the property! A very nice read with a very happy ending!
Again this isn't my normal genre but I thought I would check it out since it's by one of my favorite authors. Romance is brewing in Grandberry Kentucky. Maggie comes home after her fiance broke up with her in a note. She feels at home and comfortable and rekindles things with Mitch. Great story with secrets galore.
When her wedding is called off by a letter from her fiance she has no where to go but home. Even though she had been gone for years her heart had never truly left. When she finds out her granny's farm is trying to be taken away from her she fights back. True romance and Tonya tells it so well. Read.
The virtual voice did a fairly decent job with this story. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to click with the main characters. Overall it was a short easy listen,
Can Maggie save her Grandmother Hazel's farm? Can she make a new life for herself after her broken engagement? Will she realize she is in love with her best friend Mitch?
Maggie Greenlee is from Grandberry Falls, who now resides in New York, and is an attorney, she hasn't been home for an extended in six years. The last time she was home was for Christmas, and she was with Grady, when he dropped a salt shaker and her grandmother, Hazel, asked him to take a pinch a throw it over his shoulder to calm her superstitious ways, he told her that he didn't believe in it. This made her grandmother very unhappy, and now she hated Grady. Maggie has to go home one Saturday, because her sister Belle, is giving her a bridal shower, which she really didn't want, but she is obligated now to attend. Belle owns a beauty spa called The Hair Pin, and she made it a spa on her own, it was just a hair cutting shop before Belle got her hands on it. Mitch Dozier is now mayor of Grandberry Falls, and Maggie's childhood friend. They have known each other since they were 5-years-old, and were also neighbors, Mitch always loved Maggie. He took a surprise trip to New York, but when he seen Maggie kissing Grady, he just turned around, and went home. Maggie never told Mitch that she was engaged, he had to find out himself through his girlfriend, Wendy Owens. Hazel Greeenlee is the town's matchmaker, as well as Maggie's grandmother. She doesn't like Grady at all, and not just because of the salt shaker incident. She always felt the best match for Maggie was Mitch, Maggie also feels that her grandmother is hiding something important from her, but she won't tell Maggie what it is. This is a funny book, it tells a story of family values, but with humor. Ms. Kappes, is a brilliant story teller, I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did! Happy reading!
Either I don't understand something or there is a problem in the timeline of this series
SPOILER ALERT!!
Book 2 ( Happy new life)talks about Liz's love life and unscrambles the death of Jenna's husband. The story is set just before the new years ball and Maggie is kept in the dark about the farm's situation
Book 3 mentions the death of Jenna's husband without the new information given in book 2, Liz's is single and they seem to be only starting to prep for the ball.
The story is really good, I loved it but as I said I don't get the timeline. Maybe it's just me...
I love Tonya Kappes' writing so if someone could explain this to me...
This is another fun, winning book by Tonya Kappes. The town of Grandberry Falls is full of great characters that make you want to jump in a car to travel to. While it is the third book in the Granderry series, it stands on its own. Maggie Greenlee has come back to Grandberry Falls so that her sister Belle can give her a bridal shower. Maggie’s grandmother Hazel does not like Maggie’s fiancée Grady, and makes hopes the time at home will open Maggie’s eyes to something better – namely Mitch Dozier. Mitch has been in love with Maggie forever, but never let her know. This is a great book about second chance and figuring out what is really important in life.
This is the final book, (as far as I know), in the Grandberry Falls series. It ended with me in happy tears. It is a heartwarming series. The people of Grandberry Falls captured me from the very first book. One plot in this book was mentioned in previous ones so I would recommend reading this in order. The romantic plot in this book was suspenseful. It also shows up in another book, (a prequel short), A Superstitious Christmas, which I would recommend be read before reading this one.
Maggie's life is surrounded by superstition and her Grandmother's words about them fill her up! Maggie was engaged to s smooth talking city slicker from New York but her family is still in Grandberry Falls. Once her engagement ends and her job ended too, Maggie went back. As an excellent lawyer in the field of eminent domain, Maggie helped save the family farm once she found out this secret her grandmother was keeping, And the story ends with Maggie planing to stay in Grandberry Falls where her life and her heart is!
Maggie thought she had everything she could ever want. But, truth be told, she wanted to go home to her small town and didn't know that is what she wanted. Living through obstacles, she finally realized what she wanted and she finally got what she wanted. Complex characters, strong storyline, and several awww moments.
This was a sweet small town love story. We have a little mystery to figure out too.I enjoyed the characters and the charming town. (All the way to the sweet tea and superstitions.) I've read this book first but apparently it is a third book in the series. I didn't feel like I was missing anything by not reading the others but if its about this town it might be worth going back and picking up.
This is a cute little romance, but didn´t engage me particularly. It is the third in a series, and maybe I would have been more interested if I had read the first two books, but I really don´t care enough to go back and read them.
Amazing as the first 2. I do however wish there was a connection, or even slight reminder of the first two in the series, just to bring everything together in a nice neat bow.
