Defeated Demons: Freedom from Consciousness Parasites in Psychopathic Society

Rate this book
Psychopaths are not human. Psychopaths will leave effusive and flattering comments on your social network page after you friend them. They will text you numerous times a day and call you on the phone just to hear your voice before they sleep. They continually quiz you about your sexual fantasies then enthusiastically promise to fulfil them all on the day you physically meet. Steadily and by degrees they build a comprehensive profile of you in order to create a blueprint for constructing a mirror-perfect soulmate persona and then, they claim you. They claim your heart, your energy, creativity, happiness, peace, sanity, strength and in some cases, all or most of your worldly goods. Then they begin to destroy you. Eternally hungry, forever empty, they never stop seeking the one thing that makes you human and the one thing they will always lack: your soul.

Thomas Sheridan is an author, artist and film maker from Dublin, Ireland who came to international recognition in 2011 with the book Puzzling People: the Labyrinth of the Psychopath.

In recent times, his work has been featured in some of the world's largest media outlets as the interest in his work into serial killers, occult history and mind control cults continues to grow. This has resulted in Sheridan becoming a much sought after public speaker due to his entertaining, if at times, hilariously funny and informative style of presentation. Making challenging and difficult topics accessible to every kind of audience.

Sheridan offers a holistic approach to all the topics he covers, believing that by re-examining everything from art, mythology, the occult and on to social engineering that this can equip us with what he terms a 'consciousness firewall' in the face of pathological forces.

I like this book. I like Thomas Sheridan. I liked his last book also. Is it 100% scientific? Probably not. Do I care? No. Do I think he's a charlatan? No. I think he really cares, but even if he doesn't his message is very helpful.

One of the things I like about this author is that he's not afraid to make what some people might think are outrageous statements. I don't know that I believe them all, but I don't know that I disbelieve them either. I'm just not at a point in my life where I can appreciate them intellectually as much as I can appreciate the micro view of one life as it is affected by a single psychopath, since my life certainly was.

There isn't that much new in this book, from what I can see. However, I still recommend it. I love Sheridan's writing style. He's a little repetitive like most nonfiction/kind of self-help books authors can be, but not irritatingly so. Or, maybe it's because I still need a lot of validation for what I experienced, which is why I'm reading this book anyway.

Plus, he's funny. Funny in the way people who say true things are. I like a man who describes psychopaths as celebrating their lives as perfect, while spending most of their time fellating strangers at the bus station.

I don't know that I'm ready to embrace everything Sheridan says about the "Psychopathic control grid", but there was a time that I couldn't fully embrace Roxy music either, but I knew I might in the future. And I sure did.

Excellent book which carries on from the Most excellent book Puzzling People. Helped me make sense out of this crazy world we live in. A must read for anyone who has ever wondered what on earth is going on on this crazy planet we call home.

First, this book is a must read for anyone who simply thinks they may be in a relationship with a psychopath. The detailing, information and wisdom of the author and his compiled work is crucial in understanding the psychopath. Using not only his own words, he also includes many case studies which I found to be very insightful and educational, as well. This book will give you all that you need to be informed and educated on the possible psychopath in your life.

Where many books will give us text book definitions, Mr. Sheridan digs deeper and gives us examples; examples far beyond and much deeper than what we find in the DSM-5. While, of course, the DSM gets to the point, for victims of these emotional predators the information held in this book is invaluable and absolutely eye opening for those of us trapped in a relationship of any sort, feeling that the abuse is in our head, not reality.

While the author deviates from the classic relationship with psychopaths (romantic, co-worker, etc) and delves into psychopaths on a full spectrum. With that in mind, I find him a bit too quick to label people as psychopathic, such as when he mentions "angry" women protesters who protest their right to not be ra*ed while wearing revealing clothing. I will save this for those interested in reading and not spoil his opinion, but I share that "tip of the ice berg" as to say, it feels as though he is a bit quick to label someone a psychopath, despite the wealth of knowledge he has before him, which he happily shares with the reader.

I can't say I agree with him psychologically on everything, either; but overall, he has compiled a great amount of work and this book is highly recommended for it contains far more knowledge than opinion.

Must Read! One of the most vital books in print.

As a person specializing in people with “NPD” and Psychopaths, due to being raised by them, this book couldn’t be more true as well as dire in terms of how urgent it is for all of society to read it.

I for one believe in the supernatural more demonic aspect of these monsters, having been so close to them in all their evil, however now days you have to put a formal scientific explanation on things, which this book does. Even though... science is exploited by the dark forces and people that be. I get it, having been RAISED by psychopaths!! But will the “woke”.. science obsessed sheep? Or if they’re really far in the swamp... “proto-psychopaths”!

Nailed it! Very well done! Wake up for real people, and read this book.
