Sharks are creatures that have perennially captured children's imaginations. In Wonderful World of Sharks , real-life photos combine with illustrations to offer children a fascinating look into the deep-sea lives of sharks. Guided by their favorite Disney characters, youngsters will explore the many different kinds of sharks, from the biggest to the tiniest, the most common to the weirdest, the gentlest to the most deadly!

So I am not the biggest fan of sharks…even though I did have a few close encounters in Shark Alley in South Africa this summer. Needless to say I picked up this book. It intrigued me. I was captivated by the brilliant photographs of so many sharks. I liked the diagrams of the different sharks and Disney illustrations (many of the Finding Nemo friends were there to introduce the various sharks). And then there was the text itself. It was pretty good. My nephew who has a father that is fascinated by sharks read this book for quite a while. Then he would go and show others a picture or tell them what he had read about. And seriously, that is the best recommendation I could give. This book is great for those who are afraid of too much text all in one place (it is broken up quite nicely by different illustrations and pictures and cartoon Pixar characters). Plus, how could you not love the book if you love sharks and you look at that great white on the cover?
From the Disney Learning series, this book provides fantastic close up shots of sharks and plenty of information to fill a child's curiosity about sharks. This book would be best suited for elementary aged children. The sentences are simple to read and it is written with a child's attention span in mind.
This book is most likley to be about sharks because it is informational. This book explains a lot even though if it is short.I would recomend this book to a classmate or anyone who likes sharks. If this book had a series I would read it but most likley there wouldnt be a series in this book.
