"How to Get to the North Pole" is essentially a guidebook by seasoned adventurer Tim Moss to boil down some of the world's greatest challenges to give the feeling that they're almost possible.

It's a great book to get the reader dreaming big and thinking outside the square. For each challenge Moss lays out all the options and explains how to subdue most of the difficulties, effectively breaking it down to seem like an attainable goal for an average person.

As stated by Sir Ranulph Fiennes in the foreword, "no book will ever get you to the North Pole any more than it will pedal a bike around the world for you". The most important part of any goal or dream is the first step and to many challenges, this book is that vital first step.

This book was excellent. Considering that it is a practical guide on how to execute the various adventures, it was very readable. Each section was interesting and had all the info you could need plus a bit more. My only niggle was the one page section on a day in the life of a climber -written by Andy Kirkpatrick not the main author - (Andy is a great author in his own right so this is just an opinion for this book) -it was all a bit airy fairy with no real information at all which would have been handy to complete the practical element and see what a climber would do in a day. Still, overall this book is a keeper and I hope will be a great reference some day!
