About half of this book is an overview of the few years when Dard Hunter focused on graphic design, with information about his time at Roycroft and his studies in Vienna, etc. There are several illustrations of works that influenced Hunter.

The other half of the book consists of plates illustrating Hunter's work.

I've always loved Dard Hunter's squared rose design, and it was a pleasure to look at the illustrations of his other graphic work in this book.

It is a mish-mash of biographical text about Hunter and his work and then illustrations (I'm not sure how complete) of that work.
