Diese Wintergeschichte ist einfach wunderbar. In einfachen Versen und wunderbaren Zeichnungen wird beschrieben, wie während eines Schneesturms Hase, Fuchs, Bär und Mensch gemeinsam in einer Hütte übernachten, ohne sich ein Leid anzutun. Das ist schön vorzulesen und auch immer noch ein Garant für Begeisterung bei meinen Söhnen.

Such an adorable book about natural enemies getting together after a storm outside brings them close. Just wanting some sleep but constant knocking in search of warmth and safety keeps Joseph the hunter awake at night. This book would be a cute addition into the classroom when it comes to having fun books to read aloud to the class. Students will enjoy this cute little story and will enjoy the rhyming that comes within it. This would also be a good book to use when starting to teach students about rhyming and ending sounds in younger grades. On top of this, we could use this in the classroom for students to make some inferences about other creatures that might come knocking on his door and for what specific reasons. This allows students to become creative with some of the animals and reasoning they all have for wanting in.

Meine liebste Passage steht direkt am Anfang unter einer grandiosen Zeichnung:

Weit fort in einem kalten Land
steht Wanjas Haus am Waldesrand.
In langen Zapfen hängt das Eis
und ringsumher ist alles weiß.
