Informative and useful, albeit annoying. I’m a reader and I like to think that I’m a pretty smart guy. This book needlessly uses words that are never spoken or written elsewhere within the sections written on history. It’s as if the conglomerate of authors and editors felt the need to flex on each other. The first 50 pages seem like a battleground to incorporate words that other peers wouldn’t recognize. Acerbic, extirpate, recalcitrant, perspicacious, come on. I’m all for expanding my vocabulary, but there are better books to read through the history of Canada. The sections about locations, attractions, and maps are very good.
