Appalachian Tales & Heartland Adventures by Bill Landry (Celtic Cat Publishing 2011)((976.8) is a commemorative book written by the host of "The Heartland Series," which aired five-minute segments about diverse subjects in Appalachia, East Tennessee, and especially in the Great Smoky Mountains from 1984 through 2009. The Heartland Series was and remains a much-beloved series here in the mountains of East Tennessee, and Bill Landry was our leader on the adventures. He's a fine storyteller, and his subjects never failed to amuse, delight, and inspire. My rating: 7.5/10, finished 2/13/12.
