Surrounded by Wolves

Rate this book
[Siren LoveXtreme Forever: Erotic Paranormal Ménage Romance, M/F/M/M/M/M, werewolves, spanking, HEA]

Cassidy moves out of the only city she's ever known and heads to the distant town of Climax, British Columbia. Her grandfather left her an estate, and she lined up a job in the small mining town.

She arrives and discovers that her inheritance is nothing more than a run-down shack, and the men she's supposed to work with are drop-dead gorgeous. It's impossible to resist the advances of the men in Climax, especially when she's never felt so isolated.

Garret is the foreman of the Gregor Copper Mine, but also alpha to a small pack of wolf shifters. Recent events in Climax have made life complicated—loggers are trying to encroach on their land, one of their pack mates is missing, and their new female dispatcher is a mouthwatering distraction. When Cassidy is threatened, the men band together, realizing the little human is more important to them than they ever imagined.

I'm not sure what I could possibly say about this book. It's incredibly short, probably necessitated by the fact that it's siren serial, so the reader doesn't get much time to get to know the characters before they're falling into bed together. Not a bad thing if you're only interested in the sex but it just didn't work for me, especially since the men were incredibly pushy, almost to the point of not giving Cassidy a choice about certain things.

Again, because of the shortness, there's a lot here that doesn't work for me. If the author had left the story as a whole rather than breaking it up into a serial or just combined the first two books in the serial, I might be more inclined to forgive some of the lopsided storytelling. As it stands, though, I'll probably end up borrowing the rest of the series from a friend rather than buying it myself.

First of all the reason I gave this 3 stars in not because I didn't love the story.

May I say I loved the story of what little there was.

But I feel that if your paying $4.49 I want more then a few pages.

I'm beginning to feel that some publishers are being greedy and trying to earn as much money from you that they can, and splitting books up so you have to spend more money.

This is in no way a slight on Stacey Espino because I like her writing, but I'm beginning to feel that I'm being ripped off,I'm going to stop buying from them in the future.

Ligero, rápido y si bien es un libro de mucho sexo, si vemos dos veces (XD).
Entretiene, en especial para aligerar la cabeza de historia complejas y largas.
¡Cortito calienta aquí!

Slice of delicious

Delicious little sexy book. Unassuming goddess meets a pack full of Adonis wolves. Lots of eroticism but a thrilling plot underneath.

(Explícito). Ni al caso, no me gustó. No lo recomiendo. Al parecer cada libro de tratará de ella “salvando” a cada miembro de la manada. No hay una buena historia interesante de trasfondo.

I simply had to get my hands on this book after reading the second one first. Stacey Espino has created a sexy wolf pack in the town of Climax and I became hooked. While the story is a quickie, it does not leave out a good plot. Cassidy has found herself with a small estate after her grandfather passes away. With a chance at a new life she uplifts everything she knows to move to Climax in BC (yes you can expect a joke or two about trying to reach climax before dark and needing help getting there). After securing a job at Gregor Copper Mine, she packs up and drives to her new home. On the way she stops to introduce herself and realizes things were not what she expected. Stepping in to say hello, Cassidy encounters some of the hottest men that she has ever seen. One of those hotties happened to be Garret Gregor, her new boss. How on earth was she going to survive working with such eye candy and not get distracted? Worse yet, after finding her new home, she realized that maybe the entire move was a bad idea to begin with.

Garret was happy that his new dispatcher would be starting on Monday. The mine needed someone to help organize the daily chaos. He had a man missing and he needed one less thing to worry about. Too bad that was not going to happen. The moment his eyes met with those of his new dispatcher, Cassidy, he knew he was in for a whole lot of trouble. She was sexy as hell and he knew he was not the only one who noticed. As Alpha to a pack of wolf shifters, Garret could hear the thoughts of his men. They were all on Cassidy.

I am really having fun with this series. The stories are quickies but the plot with the missing packmate and the tension between the wolves when it comes to Cassidy, makes for an interesting read. All of the wolves are possessive but in this case, the Alpha chooses the mate for the entire pack. Garret fears that a simple human woman cannot handle his crew and he is not willing to take that chance. His wolf is very strong and if he is unleashed, someone, especially Cassidy, could get hurt. When Cassidy is threatened by a unknown man, all bets are off. Garret takes it upon himself to protect Cassidy and the only safe place is with his pack. Imagine that: alone in a cabin with three sexy men. What is a girl to do?

A fun series, especially if you love shifters. Hell, a fun series if you love hot miners who have trouble sharing but do their best to try.

Ok, so I was hesitant to try a serial. I am more of an instant gratification type person. (I blame e-readers and the ease with which a book can be zapped to you in seconds.) What can I say? It is a serious personality flaw and I can live with that. I used to watch soap operas. The way they left you hanging each day, or for the weekend was a constant source of frustration and delight. So I figure if I could watch those, when they drag a storyline out for years, I could pick up a book that would have a conclusion in 7 books. Of course the fact that the author was Stacey Espino was also a deciding a factor.

Surrounded by Wolves begins with Cassidy uprooting her whole life. She faces a new town, home and job all while fighting the attraction to her new bosses. Oh the delicious torment. We are treated to the dilemma of one woman being attracted to four men and struggling to not feel like a slut. It is clear from the get go that each man holds a separate attraction for her. And as we get to know each one, we learn just how complex they are. There is a lot going on that makes this an exciting story to read. There is a whole rivalry with another pack. And then there is the mysterious appearance from Cassidy’s past. Of course Cassidy is in the dark about what the men really are and there is the added complication of the missing pack member. There is so much delicious torment, intrigue and unanswered questions. I devoured the first book and of course was left with a cliffhanger. All right. That’s all you get from me for now. I am off to devour the second book, Garret’s Domination.

I love Stacey Espino's work! Whether she's created a world of hot cowboys or even hotter Alpha wolfs. She does not disappoint.

I have to say.. I love the town name Climax and WOW, it sure does seem to live up to its name :)

Cassie had a tough life growing up. No real family and never spending much time in one place. Shortly after she finally finds a real family member (her grandfather) he passes away leaving her his cabin in a town named Climax. Cassie does not hesitate to start anew. She's all ready to go with a job lined up and all of her necessaries. When she gets there she decides her first stop will be to check out her new job site. She is in utter shock when she discovers her boss and the other men that work there are nothing like what she pictured in her mind. There are no toothless old men here. But rather fine looking male specimens that Cassie would not mind taking a tumble with between the sheets.

I look forward to book 2 in the series. I find myself impatient to find out what happens with Cassie and the wolfs of Climax.

I did enjoy this book, however I do wish that it had been longer. I like the story line. I really like Stacey Espino's writing. The only problem I have is with the length of the story. I can't say this enough... I need more material to become acquainted with the characters. Especially when I'm expecting to purchase the entire serialized series. Yes, I still intend to read the entire series. It is right up my alley. I just hope the next book has more material for me to sink my teeth into. I recommend this book, this new series, & I highly recommend this author.

Loved the story as expected of Stacey Espino. Character development was good and I liked them all.
What I don't like (and is has no bearing on the author at all) is that I'm paying over $4 for the first 1/4 of a book. I don't really mind that they've started to break full books up into short stories. Just don't make me pay for a full book each time. Lower the price to reflect what I'm getting, or put the whole story together and charge a reasonable price. It seems to be Siren that does this.

Short but not too bad for a continuing series. I would've liked more filling and I hope I'll get it with the other books of the series.
