A Cougar Falls Story

Grady Chastell, Shifter extraordinaire, wants to take a mate—the delectable Gabby Easton. She’s sexy, kind, and has the extraordinary ability to shift into two animal spirits, cat and fox. There’s just one problem.

Gabby won’t take him seriously.

He’s at his wits’ end trying to convince her to give him a chance when trouble comes knocking at his door. Before he knows it, he’s unwittingly party to one whopper of a lie that finally has Gabby where he wants her…but will she feel the same when she realizes she’s been duped?

It will take all his cunning, the help of the pride, and a good bit of mutual trickery to convince his foxy lady to forgive and forget. And more, to love him—the cat born to be hers.

Grady Chastell has had his eyes ~ and his cat ~ on making Gabby Easton his mate for some time now. Well before he'd found out the sexy sly fox was holding out on him, and that she could shift into a CAT, too! But now ALL the males in the town of Cougar Falls were after her, and Grady, who along with his brother Dean are known for their practical jokes and womanizing, is having a hard time getting Gabby to take him seriously. Oh, sure she LIKES him, and she gets that he's flirting with him, and flirts right back...but it's all in fun and games...on HER part. What's a cat to do get a sexy cat/fox to know he's serious?

Grady's brother Dean takes the problem out of his hands and orchestrates the perfect solution to throw Grady into Gabby's arms...only problem is, it's a lie. And while Grady is thrilled to be with Gabby, how's he going to explain to this amazing woman that's he secretly mated with he started their relationship off with a lie?

And to stir matters up more, an old for, Miles and his 4 sisters have recently come back to Cougars Falls seeking temporary asylum...bringing trouble in their wake.

I really love Marie Harte's shifters...she's got a great town going on in Cougar's Falls, where shifters of many different types have banded together to form their own big town, with smaller packs/prides, etc among the town. It's fun, crazy, sexy...and you just don't know what you'll meet next!

I really liked Grady, although a little over the top w/ the antics w/ his brother Dean. It was a little hard to reconcile the tough, bad ass cat with the prankster. And Gabby was great, but she too went a little far with pushing Grady...I think for a mated pair they messed around quite a bit with each others boundaries, but thought they were perfect for each other.

I liked the story...it wasn't my fav. in the series, but Ms. Harte never fails to amuse and get you w/ the sexing up...And the set ups for future books!!

I'm SO dying for Dean's book now, as I do believe he's met his match, and Joy, his fellow prankster? I do believe she has her own anti hero in her future!

Heather's Notes
This story was good but short. While I mostly enjoyed the story, there were a few things I didn't care for. Like Gabby's little stunt with Miles - that then got her kidnapped. I felt like she overreacted. Still it was good, and I will probably keep reading.

Great story

Great story. Love Grady and Gabby is his purr-fect mate. He is crazy, funny, sexy, smart, and I love his jokes. I love that Gabby gets him and even has some of the same qualities but with a sly delivery.

Pleasant coffee time read.
Amusing to a certain extent but these two one upping each other was a bit silly, especially as Gabby gets kidnapped.
Read many years ago and reread through Kindle Unlimited.

I loved this story. I love how its two different animal shifters rather then the same. The two characters are rounded and have great things but also they have many downs as well. I loved how their relationship didn't come easy. Which is often what you see with shifter romance book. This book is really good. I love the storyline and the character development in the book.

Outfoxed was my first read by Marie Harte and even though it is the fourth story in the Cougar Falls series I felt like the book was completely able to stand on it's own. The book does mention the characters from the previous books but the romance between Grady and Gabby is completely their own and is the main focus of this 115 page e-novella.

I thought that Outfoxed was a decent read given it's novella status. I'm not much for shorter reads but this one was an okay one. There were things like the fact that Grady was the biggest playboy. I don't get the appeal but I can't really handle books where the writers make the male leads into alpha males who have to coddle the women they love. In that way I felt the relationship between Grady and Gabby was a little "meh". Even the naughty bits of the story were a bit repetitive and shallow but the one saving grace was that Gabby despite being a ditz was actually quite adorable and she was so sweet and kind to the people she cared about.

My main thing I liked about the book other than the humour, which I would describe as mildly funny was that it was a quick and easy read that helped me get back into the shapeshifter romance genre. I wouldn't say the plot was amazing but it was alright and had enough substance to keep me reading to find out what the outcome of the story would be and if Grady and Gabby would make it. For 115 pages I'd say the author did a nice job of mixing things up and making it feel like a longer read.

I would recommend this romance novella to fans of shapeshifter romances especially if you're in the mood for a quick read. I can see this being a weekend read or one that can be picked up when you have an hour of free time and would like to start and finish a book in one sitting.

Wow.. this story was so well put together with Grady Chastell doing his damnest to land Gabby Easton without looking like a total nitwit. Let's say I laughed more than I had planned, as this was supposed to have more suspense in it, I found it more comical but well done.

As Grady was classically failing with his attempts to seduce Gabby who was part fox/cougar which made her even more appealing and a natural target for all the other cougars to try and land, Grady's brother Dean helps to plot a get together that ultimately helps gain Gabby's trust in him and eye. Yet its all done on a lie.

In the mean time Miles and his 4 sisters come back into Cougar Falls looking for a place to spend till they head out to family. This draws a not so good attention to Cougar Falls clan and the suspense and action form.

I loved Gabby and Grady.. constantly stepping on boundaries, driving each other nuts.. was quite entertaining. I will read up on the series now and was glad to have a chance to get caught up in this series. ;)

Well done.

OMG...if you have seen the cover you don't need to ask why I am reading this book. LOL, it looks right up my alley. This is book four in the Cougar Falls series by Marie Harte. I really, really enjoyed this book because there was a ton of humor. I love romance/shifter books with a great sense of humor. This story is about Cat shifter Grady Chastell and the cat/fox shifter he loves Gabby Easton. Grady is basically one prangster amongst many in his family. He is always teasing so much Gabby doesn't seem to realize he seriously likes her. She overheard a conversation where her sister told Grady to be nice to her. Grady is doing everything he can to get her attention and Gabby thinks he is just doing it to be nice. As I mentioned before this book had a great deal of pranks and humor and was a really nice read. This was on the shorter side as I finished it in about two hours. Well worth an afternoon though!

Grady and Gabby. I liked both characters in previous books, but I wasn't too interested in this one to start. It did get better, but I got kinda pissed at Gabby. I felt she pushed it too far with their one-up-manship. The ending is super cute though and they do suit each other.
Grady is serious about his infatuation with Gabby, but he has a reputation for not being serious. How can he convince her otherwise? Gabby comes across as kinda dim and wimpy that she doesn't take him up on one of his flirtatious offers. I thought she was a take life by the b*lls kinda gal? So Grady's friends take it upon themselves to help shove them together with a rather pathetic lie. Rather fess up at once, Grady rolls with it, wondering how he is going to get out of this one now that he's dug his hole. So as you can see the plot is pretty contrived, but if you ignore the obvious holes, it was an entertaining read. I have to say, the ending makes up for much.

This is the first book I have read in this series and it can be read as a stand alone although they did refer to a few things that happened earlier in the series and some of the characters are reoccurring.

I enjoyed this entertaining shifter story. It is a light hearted, humorous book. Quite a bit of sex and witty dialogue. It was a little light on the action and character development.

A perfect book for someone wanting a quick, fun, entertaining and light shifter story. I'll go back and read the earlier books in the series when I'm in the right mood.

Pretty cover, pretty cliched story. This is a continuation of book 3 and at 99 pages it felt rushed and forced. I never once felt the main couple was GENUINELY together. He still felt like a playboy at the end and she still didn't do a thing for me, character wise. I doubt I will continue with this series if there are any more entries.

This one is a fun short read. It is not as long as the other books but thats ok. It was funny and charming with a little bit of naughtiness. This series gets better with each book. I am looking forward to Deans and Stacy story and Monty and Sophia.

This a very funny, quick read full of pranks, some fighting, and of course a budding relationship in Cougar Falls. This time it's Grady (introduced in book 1) and Gabby. They both like each other but Gabby doesn't take Grady seriously etc.
This is a great read and highly recommended.

This bk4 of the series. Funniest by far. Series gets more violent towards the females. My only issue was: your a male predator, act like it. New characters introduced. Again, very funny book. This book opens for a new story line in the series.

Meh. Tried too hard to be a funny and light shifter book, but I couldn't fully get into it. Maybe it's because I started with book 4 in the series?

Number four in the series, the novel made me laugh at Grady's shenanigans, and his little fox's multiple shifting talent intrigued me.
