Pal is a little pony that feels bad because he cannot do all of the things that the bigger horses at Star Ranch. He is feeling very sad because no matter how much he tries he can't pull wagons or run fast or buck. He just wants to be in the rodeo.

But then a little girl wants to ride him. He is the perfect size and goes just the right speed for children. Soon all of them want a ride. Pal is the perfect pint sized pal of all the children and the most popular horse there.

Cute book. I like the fact that little children can identify with not being able to keep up with their older siblings, but still can do things just perfect for their size. Combined with the beautiful illustrations, this book is a winner.

This story i about a pony who could not do what all the big horses could do. The pony was able to give horseback rides around the barn. Although the pony could not run fast or kick hard it was able to make trips around the barn. It was then considered the star pony and everyone wanted to ride.

Pal the pony has big dreams which don't seem to be coming true. There's no place in the rodeo for a pony his size - or is there? Cute story about finding what you're good at (or good for in this case? Though that sounds bad). Nice easy reader for kids who likes horses.

I don't normally review books that I purchased exclusively for my kids to read, but this one definitely deserves an honorable mention.

The pictures are absolutely beautiful. And this book was the one that allowed my 6yo book-phobic daughter to really start reading.

There is enough repetition for kids to feel quickly competent, but not so much that it reads like a sight-words reader. The text matches the pictures, but not so closely that kids can guess exactly what it says without actually reading. Was fantastic for my terrified daughter, just learning to read with phonics.

We love this book.

Pal the small Pony is sad he wants to do things at the rodeo like the bigger horses do but hes not big enough toward the end of the book he meets a little girl that feels the same way but a cowboy asks her if she wants to ride Pal and she does. She's so happy and Pal is too. They found what they can do at the rodeo! Pal gives all the kids rides and becomes the star of the rodeo!

This is about a small pony who finds his worth in giving kids rides. I enjoyed this book because it shows that not everyone's talent lies in the same place. I would use this in a class room for that reason.

Never going to forget the horror when I finished reading this as a little kid. turned my head, and turned back to find my little brother drawing blue crayon all over it.
