My daughter loves this book, I guess she feels part of the adventure. In this book, Captain Hook gets hurt a lot, so when a coconut falls on his head I imitate the coconut fall by patting her head. So now every night, she pats her head and lets me knows which book she really wants. In addition, picture reading is fantastic for little ones, at some point she realized that the pictures match, so for example “ says Jake” has a Jake face instead of words, so she traces Jake face to the illustrations of the book. I am currently searching the internet to get my hands on the rest of the series, this book really opened the world of reading for my little one.

My granddaughter is 6 months old and she sat so still while I read this story to her. She looks at the pictures. She is so quiet during story time.

This is an early reading book targeted for boys. This program is a popular show on the Disney Jr. channel. My son has enjoyed hearing this book. The sentences are very short, simple sentences and are easy to follow as each word is being read. There are also "Look and Find" examples on each page where we are looking for items hidden in the pictures. The themes in this book are friendship, working together, and fun.

Less charming than the Sofia version of the early reader book with pictoral representations of certain words, and therefore less forgiveable. The characters were bubblier and cutesier, but less expressive. Not a fan. The mini games were kind of cool though.

I would put this book in the Level 1 category, not Pre-1. Some of the words are tricky for little ones, such as "Cap'n" and "that'd." Cute read though.

I liked that this had some picture reading so that my son could “read” along as well
