The Frog Who Would A Wooing Go is presented here in a high quality paperback edition. This popular classic work by Charles H. (Charles Henry) Bennett is in the English language, and may not include graphics or images from the original edition. If you enjoy the works of Charles H. (Charles Henry) Bennett then we highly recommend this publication for your book collection.
A classic picture book featuring a frog wooing a mouse. Strangely the Gutenberg ebook includes two versions of this story, one in verse and one in prose. Perhaps the author was experimenting. I preferred the prose version, but they were both rather lousy.
The story of a frog wooing a mouse is old, and by my research, it first appeared in the sixteenth century, and most possibly is a Scottish tale and originally known as ‘Frog Went A-Courtin’. The edition I found (1908) begins with a poem.
