The photos are great; the text has not always aged well, and sometimes glosses over the history a little too quickly.

A 1973 attempt to gather a good variety of images of indigenous people of America and Canada. The text is good (for 1970's standards) and speaks to the misinformation in almost all the photos - since European influence had already occurred by the time of the daguerreotype.
