My First Painting Will Be "The Accuser"

Rate this book
“Jenks’ poetry achieves its textual striation on the level of tone by shifting between narrative and sound-based passages, as well as between stretched-out lyrical sections and jagged, cutting lines.”—Joel Bettridge This sophomore effort from Jenks expands on the disjointed lyrics of On the Cave You Live In by moving further into equal mixtures of social critique and sonic pattern. Philip Jenks grew up in West Virginia. He completed a master’s degree in creative writing at Boston University, and his ongoing engagement with Appalachian culture and politics led him to the University of Kentucky, where he worked at the Appalachian Center. In 2002, Jenks received his doctorate in political science. He is currently an assistant professor and freshman inquiry coordinator at Portland State University.

I am NOT in ANY way the author of The Global-Investor Book of Investing Rules: Invaluable Advice from 150 Master Investors, 500 of the Most Witty, Acerbic & Erudite Things Ever Said about Money, Stock Market Trading Rules: Collected Wisdom From 80 International Stock Market Experts, The Investors' Resource Book, Logic Problems for Money Minds: 42 Conundrums, Problems and Riddles to Test Your Brain, The Harriman Book Of Investing Rules: Invaluable Advice from 150 Master Investors , The Official High-Flier's Handbook: How to Succeed in Business Without an MBA , The Book of Investing Rules: Rules on Investing from the World's Leading Fund Managers, Sector Analysts, Traders, Economists and Financial Journalists ....All due respects to the Philip Jenks, as an anticapitalist
radical, these are simply not the sorts of books I would write about capitalism. Good ol' goodreads has yet to change this and has combined us. So, I contain multitudes. I didn't write those books.

Book of hysterectonomical drippings seething in animal foeti, fossilized hymns, thick mists disturbed by skin-on-skin-- disappearing into shattered aetherwomb; a lover's thick placenta greased with revelation hydrae. Here injured bodies transform into quiet bruises, turn into verses of water and life. Death redefined in ritual living.

Heard Jenks read at Myopic last weekend. Lovely, inspiring, entertaining. See review for his other book I read: On the Cave You Live In.
