When Erion’s son is kidnapped by the evil vampire Cruen, Erion vows to stop at nothing to find his hideaway—including intercepting the traveling party of Cruen’s beautiful bride-to-be. But instead of a vulnerable caravan, Erion is met by a feral band of female demons that includes Hellen, the bride—a creature of dark magic and darker passion.
Though the safety of his son is foremost, Erion can’t deny his unexpected connection to Hellen—inflaming a manic desire as primal as it is irresistible. As their bond intensifies, they move toward an inevitable and terrifying battle. With time running out, Erion realizes he must not only find and rescue his son but protect Hellen from Cruen and the underworld forces waiting to destroy her for her betrayal.
This was my favorite so far in the series. The idea was interesting, and I liked the leads, Erion and Hellen, and I really felt their love for each other. Ladd is adorable. This was almost a four star book. But I think I have a high standard for paranormal romance now, so I felt more world-building and some clarity in the storyline would have added to this novel's appeal.
At least there was no butt stuff and she toned down the use of the dreaded c word for the ladyparts. I was relieved on both fronts.
Our Review, by LITERAL ADDICTION's Pack Alpha - Michelle L. Olson: *eARC received from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review
Eternal Demon is another incredible installment to a series I will forever be grateful I discovered.
Fans of the MARK OF THE VAMPIRE series know that as the series has progressed, the world has been expanding along with the growth of the cast. Eternal Demon adds yet another realm to the incredible world Laura Wright has created for her readers, and with the introduction of this realm and new cast members, Laura embraced the darker side of her imagination and I absolutely loved it!!
Our hero, Erion - a vampire Mutore hybrid - is on a mission to rescue a child kidnapped by the villain of our series, Cruen.
Our heroine, Hellen, is one of the Devil's daughters. She has been betrothed to Cruen in order to form an alliance between the vampires and demons, though there are more nefarious purposes in play that Hellen is unaware of.
In order to draw Cruen out, Erion kidnaps Hellen and there is an instant connection, even though neither quite understand it at first. They have a ton of things in common, and yet it's more than that. As the two end up working together to save Ladd, their connection grows even stronger.
Laura created a perfect match for Erion in Hellen. They bring out the best in each other, help each other forgive the things they can't get past on their own, and remind one another that they're special and worth loving. They also come alive on the page and have fantastic dialogue. As I mentioned earlier, Eternal Demon is quite a bit darker than the previous books of the series, and in compliment, the dialogue is a bit darker, and the humor more dry as well. it worked perfectly with Erion and Hellen, and made reading their transition from lust to love utterly entertaining.
I want to tell you SO much more about the plot of this amazing book but I can't without spoilers, so I'll simply tell you that in my honest opinion, this was a beautifully written and incredible addition to the MARK OF THE VAMPIRE series full of intrigue, action, danger, and romance. I love the additions to the cast, the expansion of the world to the Hell realm, and the darkness that Laura is tapping into in order to mesh it all together.
LITERAL ADDICTION gives Eternal Demon 5 Skulls and definitely recommends it. I do, however, suggest that you read the previous books of the series - including the eNovellas - first, to get the most enjoyment out of the book. Eternal Beauty (the eNovella right before Eternal Demon) is especially needed to understand the Epilogue of Eternal Demon, which is the draw dropping segue into book #6 of the series. I cannot wait!
Quick & Dirty: Search for a lost son and salvation of sisters clash but can they unite to defeat a common enemy?
Opening Sentence: Erion landed on the familiar cobblestone street, not giving a shit who saw him flash, who saw him feral.
The Review:
Let us get this out of the way first, I’m jumping into this series very late but I found myself intrigued not only by the world but by the laser-like precision in which this book was executed. Ms. Wright was able to grab my attention and maintain it during the entire book. In fact I was so engrossed that I nearly missed an important meeting and I’d say that is a great start. In case you are wondering, I made the meeting by the skin of my teeth.
We are drawn into a world where Erion has just lost his balas or child to the one creature on earth that Erion would love to rip from limb to limb if he got the chance, Cruen, a sadistic vampire. Not knowing any of the back story, I was sucked into the depth of this novel by Erion’s passion and despair at losing his child. Makes a heart go all mushy when a guy is that passionate about his child.
He goes on a quest to find where Cruen has taken his son, Ladd, and discovers through his interrogation of Cruen’s family that Cruen is set to wed. Erion then goes hunting for Cruen’s fiancé.
Cruen’s fiancé, Hellen, is the eldest daughter of the devil but has no love for Cruen or her father and only seeks to protect her younger sisters. The devil has used Hellen’s marriage to Cruen as the bargaining chip to secure his other daughters choice in whom they wed. My respect and admiration of Hellen is great. She is ready to sacrifice herself in order to ensure that her siblings are given a choice. Hellen is the type of woman that would stick by your side once you had become her friend through thick, thin and high water.
There are moments that I was dragged from Hellen and Erion’s story a little abruptly for my liking due to the continuation of the over arching story. Some of these had me more confused than enamored of the characters, but I can definitely see that Ms. Wright knows exactly where this story is going and where all her characters are in that story. For this she receives not only a pass but kudos for such insight and determination to move her story forward.
Then the question becomes do I jump into book 5 of Mark of the Vampire series or do I start at the beginning and work my way forward? I’m of two minds regarding this. Firstly, there is nothing like getting a book hot off the presses. But I think you may be doing the series a disservice by jumping into the new shiny book. Secondly, you could grab all the other books in the series and then work your way up to book 5, and get the full measure of enjoyment from all the characters that I only have a passing acquaintance with right now.
Finally, this book is one that needs to be added to every “To Be Read” pile. Whether you read it in the order that the author intended you to read them or just jump into the deep end of this amazing and well formatted world. I shall definitely be reading more of this series and when I get a spare few hours I shall visit book 1 to 4 so that I can grasp the true magnitude of this series.
Notable Scene:
Hellen nodded, but her fingers flexed, ached to hold her weapon.
“You will not shame me.”
“I am rather good at it, though, Father.”
Again the flash of fury clouded his already pale eyes. “Yes,” he hissed. “But after today the consequences will be dire.”
Hellen’s muscles tensed. “Today?” She’d thought she had more time.
The Devil’s grin made the black scorched earth below her feet tremble. “The time has come, daughter. You will leave us and take your place aboveground–”
“With the bloodsucker,” Hellen finished for him, unable to restrain her acerbic tone.
Abbadon’s nostrils flared and he coiled over her like a snake. The air went silent and the rain ceased to fall. It was his attempt at intimidation. There was nothing the Demon King appreciated more that fear in his offspring. Especially from the one before him.
FTC Advisory: Signet Eclipse/Penguin provided me with a copy of Eternal Demon. No goody bags, sponsorships, “material connections,” or bribes were exchanged for my review.

My Thoughts!
We fans of the MARK OF THE VAMPIRE series know that as the series has progressed, the world has been expanding along with the growth of characters. Eternal Demon adds another realm to this incredible world Laura Wright has created. Once again this fabulous writer turns to her darker side for our foray into Hell.
I think this is my favorite in a series of favorites. We have Erions and Ladd's story and an exploration into the Demon side of Erions and the machinations of the Devil. I am going to be really vague here because this story is so great I don't want to even let one spoiler loose. Lets just say that once again the plot of the series takes a complete turn and once again the readers fall down the rabbit hole and learn about more of Cruen's dastardly deeds. The almost complete focus of the story is Erions and Hellen's relationship however we do have one side story still progressing...of course!! can't have a Mark of the Vampire without having a few different plot lines going. We are also introduced to Hellen's two sisters and Ladd has a bit more of a role in this novel. Laura Wright's imagination knows no bounds and I for one am so grateful her writing talent is as good as her imagination! You can't miss this installment of the Mark of the Vampire Series.
5 Stars!! nough said!

The latest book in author Laura Wright's Mark of the Vampire series is an erotic, dangerous and thrilling ride into the depths of hell.
Literally.
Eternal Demon picks up where Eternal Beast left off. Erion is on a mission to find his son who was kidnapped by the vampire Cruen. Erion's plan is to take Cruen's bride to be hostage and exchange her for his son. The only problem is that instead of a meek, dull female, Erion finds himself face to face with a fierce, beautiful and dangerous female demon that temps him to distraction. Did I mention that she calls hell "home"?
Hellen's personality matches her name, she's a hellion for sure. There's not a timid or whiny bone in her body. Her only weakness is the love she has for her sisters, which is what has her betrothed to Cruen in the first place. So when she is taken by Erion, she becomes enraged and tries every trick in the book to escape him and get to Cruen before it's too late.
Eternal Demon is a fast paced story that introduces a whole new cast of characters, and answers a few questions along the way, even as it creates new mysteries. It is definitely more erotic than previous books. Erion and Hellen have some serious sexual tension going on for almost half of the book and for longtime fans, that won't be a problem because there's a continuing story going on and it certainly doesn't take a back seat to the romance!
Laura Wright even teases readers with a few scenes that hint about Syn's story and Petra's background. Surprising stuff, and designed to make fans even more eager for the next installment of the series. Did I mention an excerpt from Syn's book is at the end?
Eternal Demon lives up to the Mark of the Vampire reputation as an exciting, dangerous and sexy story that will enthrall readers and keep them wanting more.
Eternal Demon, the fifth installment in the Mark of the Vampire series, continues where book 4 left off. I'm a huge fan of the series and Laura and had been looking forward to this book just find out what comes next!! Laura has done a great job of expanding and developing the world and characters, both original and new. She could easily create a spin-off series and lovers of the MOTV series would love it as well! Erion intrigued me from the very beginning and I was curious to see how his story would unfold. To tell you the truth, I didn't expect what I got! Talk about a twist! I loved it!! Sometimes, you start to wonder how the author will keep you engaged when the series has grown into something different from the original arc. With this series, you wonder but are happy with the outcome!!
A much darker story from the previous ones, but it works and brings truth to both lead characters. As this is a romance, I wondered how the whole love match would occur. There were lots of possibilities/scenarios running through my mind and like I said earlier, LOVED the twist. Hellen is PERFECT for Erion. Strong and independent. She doesn't coward against nor behind Erion's alpha demeanor. They truly are a great match. Both bring out the best in each other.
Not wanting to provide you with spoilers, I'll end this review with letting you know that it's a must read and is a great addition to a fantastic series. The end is a great set up for the next book, however, note that there is a novella that goes between this book and the next, which I highly suggest you read in order to fully understand book six. Besides, it's a Laura Wright novella. You know it will be awesome!!
I love Laura and I love this series... the new elements she's bringing into it are interesting and different. I will say that while I loved this book, it was actually a bit heart breaking from time to time and I felt for Kate and Nicholas. Honestly I mostly was waiting for the next parts that would focus on Synjon and the teasers that would lead into his book. Can't wait for his full story.
Again Ms Wright managed to put another spin on the whole true mate thing, keeping the background story going and building all the same time.
Erion was a character first seen way back in either book one or two as a faithful servant to Cruen.
How things change. Just one small night 8 years ago and knowledge of what it made changed Erion from an unquestioning, unwavering servant and mutant beast to a hopeful, open to possibilities and wanting hybrid vampire shifter.
Having his balas, Ladd snatched from under them in the very end of the last book, Erion finally finds something to get him back. He discovers Cruen - as disbelieving as it sounds - is to wed; mate.
Answer is simple. He steals her. Simple exchange.
But he has no idea who she is.
She is Hellen. Daughter and first born of Abiddon, ruler of the underground.
Naturally she's pissed. He chucks her into the dungeons in his castle.... where she keeps surprising him - and not in a good way!
However, her mother knew Hellen would be traded by Abiddon -which she is - she's never even met Cruen - and gave her a potion to keep her from going into heat. without the potion, the heat overtakes her in the dungeon and Erion is finding himself fighting to not go to her.
Constantly.
This is not an easy route.
Abiddon realises Cruen doesn't have his daughter and in retaliation takes Ladd into the underground to flush Erion and Hellen down.
It works. Of course it does. But what Erion is struggling with is how it feels like he's been here before. ....and how it takes everything in him to not claim Hellen.
If he does....he'll never get Ladd back.
But can he let Hellen go? Abiddon is making the newly mated pair mate in front of the entire underworld..... Can Erion keep the cool....? Or did Abiddon never intend to let them go? If Cruen success in making a child with Hellen, it gives Abiddon a foothold to staying up top....
Ifs, Ifs, Ifs........ But everyone forgets about what Ladd wants. Or what he can do to help. ....
4 Stars This has been my favorite book in the series so far. There is something about this one that sets it apart from the others. The writing has stayed consistent throughout the series and I love meeting these new characters as we get to learn more about the ones we already know from previous books. Great spice with great plot, we love to see it.
This read like a porn soap opera, the repeated drama cutting into R rated throwdowns - some of which I liked, most of which I didn't. Two and a half stars.
In a Nutshell: Excellent paranormal romance that redeems the series after book four’s dud.
The Set Up: Erion is a mutore, a vampire and shifter hybrid, and is on a quest to rescue his son from Cruen, his evil vampire nemesis. Erion learns Cruen is taking a bride, Hellen, so he kidnaps her to force a prisoner exchange. What Erion doesn’t expect is for fiery Hellen to capture his heart and complicate his quest.
Why I Read this Book: Series fan here. I didn’t like book four’s romance but the series’ plotlines were good and kept me interested in the series.
What I Liked: This is *exactly* the romance I needed to reconnect with the series. Book four’s romance left such a bad taste that I needed a stellar romance to continue the series. In Erion and Hellen I got that romance. Erion and Hellen start as enemies as he kidnaps her but they slowly begin trusting each other and this offers stellar emotional and sexual intensity. This is one of those romances were I could actually see what draws Erion and Hellen to each other and thought they became stronger people as a couple than they ever could apart. They offer each other the support, comfort and trust each needs to heal from past wounds and be the strong people they need to be. Yes, the ending was a tad over of the top on Hellen’s part as she makes a decision for them without Erion’s input but even this offered good angst and then stellar resolution not just for Erion and Hellen but Erion’s son as well.
I have to mention how awesome of leads both Erion and Hellen are. Erion’s is one of the classic damaged heroes but he’s not selfish in his pain like too many heroes are in my opinion. Hellen is a very untraditional heroine. What she does to one of Erion’s guards who tries to molest her had me simultaneously laughing and raising my fist in triumph. Such good characters here!
What I Also Liked: The paranormal world of vampires, mutore, and demons is so well imagined and kept my attention big time. I flew through this book. Erion and his friends/brothers are in a series’ quest to destroy Cruen, the evil vampire. In book four Cruen kidnaps Erion’s son (who doesn’t know he’s Erion’s progeny and therefore a mutore, but readers know) and this book’s plot focuses on Erion rescuing his son. This offers a great, fast-action plot but also plenty of emotional intensity as Erion learns what it means to be a father and how this intersects with Hellen’s demon family is just part of the adventure.
I should also say that this book has less of the Roman brothers than the other books but still enough for my taste. The Romans were great heroes and I like revisiting them but the mutore have captured my interest so I’m pleased to spend more time with them and can’t wait for all their stories.
What I Didn’t Like: Are you lost in this review? If you’re not a series reader you may be and I’m sorry for you since all the books, except book four, have ranged from good to excellent. I don’t think a new reader could jump in here and know what’s going on so don’t even try. But series readers will love this installment as I did.
IMO: This book righted the series for me with its stellar romance and strong plot. *review copy from publisher*
REVIEW: ETERNAL DEMON is the fifth storyline in Laura Wright’s Mark of the Vampire series. MOTV features pureblood vampires, impures (1/2 human/1/2 vampire) mutores and an assortment of terms found at the beginning of each storyline and novel but for this particular novel-there is no glossary. Anyone new to the series (reading Eternal Demon first) may have a bit of a problem because Laura Wright uses terminology that is specific to the MOTV series. Perhaps the missing information is specific to the Netgalley copies, and when the book is released the definitions will be included.
Eternal Demon is Erion’s storyline. Erion is a mutore-the adopted son of the vampire’s worst enemy-Cruen. Mutores have been long thought a myth in vampire lore-a combination of vampire and shifter, and Erion is a mutore plus much, much more. When Erion’s son is kidnpped by Cruen, Erion makes it his mission to retrieve his son but not before taking something or someone he believes Cruen wants-his mate. But the woman Erion kidnaps is much more than Cruen’s intended mate-she is the daughter of the Devil himself and she has a few secrets buried beneath a beautiful face and body.
The storyline follows that the Devil has sold his daughter Hellen to Cruen for a favor and to keep her younger sisters safe and out of harm’s (the Devil) way, Hellen agrees to marry Cruen, but a cruel twist of fate will find that Hellen is only the means to an end for her father- a father worthy of the moniker of pure evil –the Devil.
Erion has long thought there is no female who would want the mutore that is the man. Finding Hellen, a woman who calls to his soul, Erion must first accept what has long been buried inside of himself, but in freeing Hellen he will also unleash a demon of a very different kind. Not only does Hellon tug at Erion’s heart but so too do the bowels of Hell and the demons who reside within. But Hellen has an interesting way of dealing with people who literally p*ss her off. Interesting concept if we could all eat those whom we didn’t like **snort**
ETERNAL DEMON brings together many of the previous storyline characters including the Roman brother’s and their mates, as well as Synjon Wise whose story begins in Eternal Beauty and will continue in November 2013’s Eternal Sin. The reader learns Petra’s true identity and how saving Synjon’s life will affect his future as well as her own. The cohesion of the series is well blended with the inclusion of many of our favorite vampires from stories past.
Laura Wright has written a fast paced and richly detailed installment in the Mark of the Vampire series with Eternal Demon. The storyline pulls together friends and past enemies to help free a small child whose only sin is the father he is just learning to love. Eternal Demon has the familiarity of another storyline where the beast falls for the beauty, and in true fairytale fashion, there is always a happily ever after.
Erion's son, Ladd, is kidnapped by Erion's adoptive father, the evil vampire Cruen. In order to get Ladd back, Erion kidnaps Cruen's bride-to-be as a bargaining chip. But Erion doesn't realize that Hellen is a demon from Hell, and she turns out to be more than he bargained for. She calls to the demon nature he tries to keep hidden and under control, and their attraction to each other is primal and undeniable.
When Hellen's father, the Devil—yes, THE Devil—discovers that she's missing, all Hell breaks loose. Well, The Devil breaks loose. Now Erion has to deal with the Devil. And Erion not only wants his son back, but the devil's daughter in the bargain.
But the devil doesn't drive a fair bargain.
My thoughts:
Hellen is feisty, strong, and kick-ass. Yet she's also sympathetic. She has a tender heart, and constantly worries that she's going to end up like her father. Is she beautiful? That's brought up often throughout the book. You'll have to decide for yourself, but she's beautiful in Erion's eyes.
Erion was short-changed in life, having been rejected by his mother and raised by Cruen. He's considered a "mistake." His son is being raised by his twin brother and his brother's true mate, and Ladd doesn't even realize that Erion is his father. But when Ladd is kidnapped, Erion's fatherly instincts roar to the surface. He feels that he must be the one to bring him home. I won't give you any spoilers, but Erion grows into his true self on his journey.
This book moved along at a fast pace. The suspense, danger, and tension—sexual and otherwise—between Hellen and Erion kept me reading page after page. I was finished before I knew it. And I wanted more!
We visit with favorite characters from past books in Eternal Demon. It was fun to see the irreverant Lucian again. Alexander was his usual commanding self except when it came to his Achilles heel, Sara. Nicholas and Kate face a dark moment in their lives, and it will be interesting to see how they come out on the other side. Synjon Wise has virtually gone mad. Eternal Sin is set up at the end of Eternal Demon. Although I could see the last line of the book coming, it still gave me a thrill.
Laura Wright scored Colby Lefebvre as the cover model for Eternal Demon I've posted a few photos of him on my Man Candy! page.
Did not start (read first chapter).....This series started with vampires. Well written, sexy, drool worthy vampires. Then Ms. Wright decided that impure vampires weren't enough and she added vampires that shape shift and ordinary shape shifters in the last book/novellas. Now in this book she has added demons. REALLLLLLLLLLY???????????? At this point and with my reading challenge this year (not to read any book that I am not really enjoying) I think this one will be put back on the want to read list until I feel more in the mood.
Oh Erion! When I first met you back in Eternal Kiss, I had no idea what a great hero you would make, but thanks to the end of Eternal Beast, I started this book more than ready for your story. Not only did the book deliver, but Erion is what really sold it for me.
As the story begins, our hero is desperate to recover his son, Ladd, who was stolen by the evil Cruen. Erion and his brother fled the twisted man who raised him and now Cruen is using the boy as leverage to draw Erion back into the fold. Instead, Erion kidnaps the women Cruen is betrothed to --and proposes a trade: her for Ladd.
Of course, when he abducted Hellen, Erion had no idea she was a powerful demon. Nor did he understand that her father was blackmailing her into the marriage. Despite the fact Hellen doesn't want her intended, she is determined to marry him. Her sisters' future depends on it. But when she goes into something like a sexual heat, she and Erion are unable to fight the growing attraction between them. From then on out, they are pulled between their personal desires and their need to protect the people they love.
Neither Erion nor Hellen has ever had anyone want or love them for who they are. One of my favorite parts of the book was watching them each feel love and acceptance for the first time. There is a great sexual tension between them, but even better for me was for each of them to find a home in the other. Both characters are noble and selfless, brave and loyal. It was impossible not to root for their HEA.
In the meantime, Synjon is back. He was the dear friend that Bronwyn was going to mate with in Lucian's book. If you recall, Cruen was responsible for the death of his true love and he is on a mission to make the man pay. (Eternal Beauty gives us a look at what he's been up to since we last saw him.) So he joins the Roman brothers and their mutore brethren to track him down. Poor Syn is just a shell of his former self, but Wright does a great job laying the foundation for his book.
I was really happy with how this story played out and was very satisfied with the ending. A must read for fans of the series.
"Eternal Demon" by Laura Wright. Book 5 in the Mark of the Vampire series.
Wow! I loved this book. The characters of Erion and Hellen were a match made in Hell...and that's a good thing!
Erion is the twin of the vampire Nicholas Roman, but he's so much more than just that. He's also a mutore, a vampire than can shift into a beast and he also happens to be the biological father to the balas Ladd, who the evil vampire Cruen has stolen and is holding for ramsom. Cruen wants Erion and his three mutore brothers and sister back under his control. But when Erion gets information that Cruen is about to be mated, he conceives a plan to steal Cruen's bride and trade her for Ladd. Erion never expected to start to have feelings for the female he kidnaps. How the hell is he supposed to choose between his son Ladd, and the woman he is falling in love with, Hellen?
Hellen is prepared to sacrifice herself to the evil vampire Cruen in order to save her sisters from the same fate as herself. Her father, Abbadon, the Devil himself, has arranged this mating. But when Hellen is kidnapped by one of Cruen's enemies and finds out what Cruen has done to enrage this vampire, this beast Erion, her feelings start to change. But her fate is already set. She must get back to Hell and complete the mating with Cruen in order to save her sisters.
An excellent storyline in this book keeps you interested and invested in the characters and eager to find out what will happen. The sexual tension between Hellen and Erion is off-the-charts HOT! The imagery throughout the book is really well done, especially the descriptions of Hell. Very imaginative and extreemly interesting. When I end up talking to the characters in the book out loud because I'm getting frustrated with them or my heart is breaking for them, I know I'm loving it and I found myself doing that with this book.
OH! And the epilogue? What a teaser!!! Can't wait to read "Eternal Sin"!!!
I won this Ebook in a Twitter contest. Full review to follow
Sex scenes were somewhat awkward to me Jarring changes between scenes near end of book to set up the next book in series greatly disrupted the book flow
Ok, here's my more fleshed-out review. I really liked the first few of this series, but as is often the case, the succeeding books are not as good. I did like that we saw more of the earlier book characters. I do like the 2 main characters in this book- Erion, who is part demon, and Hellen, who is a full demon and the daughter of the devil. But the book just did not hold my interest. I found myself wandering into other books on my Kindle and then coming back to this one when I had finished the other books.
Hellen and Erion start out as enemies but slowly fall in love. Hellen agrees to wed Cruen, an evil vampire, in order to save her sisters from being used as pawns by their father, the devil. Cruen has kidnapped Erion's innocent son, and Erion therefore kidnaps Hellen to trade for his son. Erion thinks that it is a love match between Hellen and Cruen, and it never made much sense to me why she wouldn't admit that it wasn't. Some of the basic premises of the book, creating artificial understadnings, just didn't work for me. I had a hard time willingly suspending my disbelief, which I think it a large part of what lead to my dislike of this book.m Also, why in the world Hellen trusts her dad to be honorable is just beyonf me. Come on, he's THE DEVIL! Did you miss the part in school where you learn what that menas, king of evil and all that?!
I did enjoy earlier books in this series enough that I will try the next book in the series, but I really hope I like the nest one better. This one just couldn't capture and hold my interest.

This is my very first book in the Mark of the Vampire series by Laura Wright. Eternal Demon is book number 5 in the series. While it would be ideal to have read the books in order, I think this book stands well on its own. If you’re an avid reader of the Mark of the Vampire series then you will love this book. If you are new to the series like I was, you can expect an exciting suspenseful ride with loads of danger, twists and turns and lots of hot vampire sex. I do think Ms. Laura Wright has another hit on her hands.
I've got some catching up to do since I had only read ETERNAL BEAST before swirling into the world of the ETERNAL DEMON, but thank goodness I had.
ETERNAL DEMON, book five of the Mark of the Vampire series by Laura Wright takes up right where ETERNAL BEAST left off only to take us further into the realm of the underworld than was always comfortable.
Fast-paced, with intriguing interwoven stories surrounding Hellen and Erion, ETERNAL DEMON keeps you grasping the pages in anticipation. Erion is seeking to find his son, while trying to use Hellen as a bargaining tool, only to find he's falling in love with a woman who is fighting her own battles against the most evil creature of all, her father. Not a good thing but Hellen is a fighter. She's family bound yet understands that sometimes sacrifice is the only way to save those she loves.
If you've read the other books in the Mark of the Vampire series, you won't want to miss Erion and Hellen, but even if you haven't, I believe you can pull enough from the back story provided by Laura to thoroughly enjoy ETERNAL DEMON by Laura Wright.

I am on the border her between 4 and 5 stars... The ending was AMAZING and left me excited for the next book. Seeing as the next book is Syn and Petra's I am uber excited, that novella Eternal Beauty was just a tease and I NEED more of Syn. Things really came together in this (book 5 of the Mark of the Vampire Series) book we learned a lot more information on Cruen...firstly WHY or better yer HOW he is SOO powerful, and I didn't see it coming in the other books at all. I loved that Hellen's character was described as hideous and she was so down on her own looks never feeling pretty at all, and to have Erion tell her she is the most beautiful creature he has ever seen made me happier still. Ladd's role in this book was great as well, and I am so glad to see Erion stepped up into the role of father. There were also a few different side stories in this book...Syn and Petra, Alex and Sara, Cruen and Cellie, as well as the whole Petra, Syn, Cruen mess as well. All in all this was an amazing book, and the more I write the more I want to give this a 5 star review...Laura Wright really does do an amazing job bringing these characters to life.
Madly cruel Cruen kidnapped Eionn’s young son, Ladd. While searching for Ladd and Cruen, Eionn finds out that Cruen is about o take a bride but he can’t find Cruen. So Eionn does what he can to make Cruen come to him… by kidnapping Cruen’s intended ‘mail-order, demon bride, the daughter of the devil himself, the beautiful and aptly named, Hellen.
Hellen doesn’t want to marry Cruen or anyone else, but her mother’s dying wish was that Hellen would care for her younger sisters and not let them be forced into marriage, Hellen is sacrificing herself by completing Abaddon’s half of his bargain with Cruen by marrying him.
The Roman family, the Mutores and anyone who knows Cruen is either searching or aiding locating Cruen, yet Eionn’s willful, obstinate prisoner won’t stop trying to escape to get to Cruen’s side for protection and mating. If she wants a mate so bad, he’ll mate the hellion himself, he just has to get Ladd back.
Honestly, I don’t know if it’s me or the series but I’m having a harder time connecting with the outing and liking them less each time with the convoluted relationship (to the point of confusion). Rating 3.25stars
I must say, it isn't every day that I read a book where the heroine CONSUMES a human being... And reading this one threw me for a loop at first. But once I got into the groove, understood the characters better, I end up really enjoying the love story in this one.
Erion is a vampire half breed whose son has been kidnapped by his adoptive father. Cruen, the father, wants to use the boy to bring his son to heel and so that he can use both father and son some more in his nasty genetic experiments. So, when Daddy kidnaps his son, Erion makes the logical choice to kidnap his father's bride. What he doesn't know is that the bride is the Devil's daughter (literally) and she was given to Cruen for a specific purpose. Cruen and the Devil Abbaddon want to use any child produced to allow the Devil to return to the Earth and live there. So while they see Hellen as a vessel, he just sees her as a means to an end.

REVIEW: Wow! I loved Eternal Demon! It kept me enthralled from beginning to end and left me wanting more. I have been hooked on The Mark of the Vampire series since Laura Wright released the first book in the series! This book had everything I look for in a great book. Eternal Demon has plenty of action, danger, intrigue and steamy romance. Erion and Hellen are made for each other and bring out the best in each other. I loved their dialogue with each other. Laura Wright created a world so vivid that the reader feels like they are right there with the characters. She has an incredible writing style that I love! I can not wait for the next book, Eternal Sin, to come out in November 2013. I recommend this book and this series for all paranormal romance lovers!
