A woman customer arrives at a restaurant, dreaming of a plate of the establishment's world-famous stew, but since a busload of Spanish tourists has just finished the last bit of stew, she must persuade the reluctant waiter to find someone to whip up a new batch, in a wacky tale in verse.

The whole family enjoyed reading this book aloud! Something about the two voices and everyone taking turns reading the parts! I love Laura Numeroff illustrations too! If you give a mom a book....she'll want a cup of tea to go with it you know. But, alas, she'll have to stew because it is Granny's bowling night!
This is my all time favorite to read aloud to a class or group of kids. I read this to a Kindergarten Class last year and the kids LOVED IT....both boy and girl. The kids had so many questions and comments when I was done reading. The book really got them thinking!!! And as for me, the sing-songy rhythm was fun and left me smiling!
My dad would tell me stories about his grandma's legendary stew after reading this book. I think both of my parents had line-for-line of Two for Stew memorized. Maybe they still do.
