The excellent second volume of Parkin’s prisoner of war trilogy. Parkin’s harrowing tale honestly and frankly captures the horror of the Thai-Burma railway for the Australian and British PoWs who were forced to work on it with Tamil, Chinese and other Asian slaves. Parkin’s ability to tell the story in such a manner is amazing. Highly recommended.
