The Beach House

Rate this book
Sometimes ordinary is no longer enough Jenni Adams doesn't recognize how unhappy she is until she sees the young couple staying in the beach house. They seem to have everything her life is missing. They love each other, they have a beautiful baby, and they don't appear to fight. Ever. Kim and Joe Fransiscus are rediscovering each other following the birth of their daughter. This vacation is meant to be a chance to relax, but the beautiful woman who comes to swim from the house next door attracts them both. When Kim teases Joe with a hint of her interest events take a new and steamy turn. Joe has no idea Kim wants to try sex with another woman, but once the idea is planted he cannot get it out of his head. For Jenni’s husband Mark the years keep getting tougher. His business is failing, his marriage with it, and Mark has no idea what he can do to save them. His frustration turns to anger, an anger that turns against more than his wife, because no one is going to take his property from him. The Beach House is a story driven by lust, sensuality and frustration. As three individuals make a decision to stop fighting their desires, a fourth can no longer fight his compulsion to strike out.

About the author

J.T. Harding

11 books69 followers
Tess Harding started writing fiction at the age of 9, but had to wait until she was 24 before being published professionally. That was a long time ago, and somewhere along the way real life demanded her attention and she drifted away from writing until recently.
Tess writes erotic fiction which, she sincerely believes, is different. Many works under that banner consist of graphic and extreme sex. Tess believes that true eroticism only comes from character and storyline. Therefore, her fiction may take a while to get going, but it will get you there in the end and, it can be argued, will result in greater satisfaction.
Tess Harding lives with her partner close to Hereford, near the border between England and Wales, where myth is still strong and civilization a thin veneer. Raised on the East Coast of America, she spends most of her time at her home looking out over green fields and a river. She also travels when she can, particularly loving France and Italy, as well as making forays back to the land of her birth to visit friends and relatives.

Mixed feelings about this book. I loved the initial story with the older woman/younger man but wasn't really sure why this tied into the later story as much, other than to show that the woman was unhappy with her marriage all along.

The menage itself was a nice read. The menage turning into a HEA was not my thing. Especially with the baby as part of the story. I realize that it's possible to think about sex while you're feeding a baby, but it weirded me out reading about these tender moments with the child being layered on top of how horny they were. Give me one or the other - please don't stack the the feelings on top of each other.

I also wasn't crazy about the way the breastfeeding played out. Drinking from the breast as a part of a sexual act is fine. I could see why this would be a turn-on. What wasn't a turn-on was all the talk of squirting and dribbling and leaking. Yes, these things happen. Just because it happens doesn't mean I need to read about it in all its detail.

Sometimes less is more. Not every detail needs to be included in a story. Anal play and anal licking - this is fine. Talking about if it tastes good/bad - NOT fine.

There was definitely a lot of emotional turmoil going on in this book that I wasn't expecting. This is more than just an erotic menage read.
Jenn is a beautiful, but beaten down woman...beaten down physically and beaten down emotionally. It sounds like she has always used sex as a way to make her feel good about herself...to the point of creating quite the reputation for herself. Living on an island where people vacation is the best thing for her because she can have her flings with no strings attached. That is until she meets Joe and Kim and her world changes forever on many levels. I was actually shocked at the depth of the story of this erotic read. I really enjoyed reading it.

4.5 Rating...

This is the second book I have read from JT Harding and….Wow! This chick can write an Erotic story that will have you squirming through the sex scenes, laughing with the humor, and holding your breathe through the climax (of the story and the sex ;-p).

The characters each have depth and are relatable in their own way. Jenni is the emotionally and physically beaten heroin who doesn’t know her worth. Kim, I just absolutely love, because as a breastfeeding mother who went through a sexual blossoming while pregnant, I completely understand this character. Joe- umm he just screams sexy as hell! The villain is easy to hate, and the heroin is easy to love – even with her transgressions…a perfect mix.

The first sexual f/f experience is actually believable and all the other sexual encounters are steamy and excitable (except involving the villain of course). This book is good all-around with character development, depth, climax, and an awesome HEA. My 4.5 rating instead of the full 5 is because I thought the blurb gave too much away and there were a few grammatical errors (nothing too distracting though). Overall- an awesome read that is definitely going on my reread list.

A serious but hot story about a FMF menage. Although the plot is somewhat contrived, the characters themselves are pretty believable and realistically portrayed.

First off, this story has one of my favorite kinks, which comes around only once or twice in a lifetime, so I've increased my rating by one star.

The story itself is well written (mostly), the characters are well developed, and the plot has some nice variants on common themes. The sex is hot and detailed.

There are two major problems, first is basic editing, with typos and missing commas. At least twice, I had to re-read a sentence to figure out what the author intended to say. Second, in several places, the author tried to do something "clever" with her prose, and it failed. More than once I pondered the choice of an adjective or simile. As we all know, these things can push the reader right out of the story. I like to thing I'm fairly tolerant of editing errors, but these were above my threshold of annoyance.

Okay for the theme and bit more sensitive the subject. But fun and pleasure giving.

It's been over a decade since I read this.
I remember the sex scenes being incredibly well-written, as expected of J.T. Harding. But the story didn't grab me. And the villain felt one-dimensional.
And the dynamic between the three leads came too easy (but again, it's been a decade)

Ali's Art was definitely a stronger series. (as well as some of her unpublished incestuous erotica like Showing It All and Florida Vacation)

Wasn't a bad read. Honestly, the character development at first had me confused. Wife yearns attention, husband doesn't give it, she likes the thrill and emotions of which she gets none until she meets the couple. Enjoyed it even though it started off rocky. Not a bad read

How many times have you looked at a couple and thought..Why? Why would she put up with that? The answer often varies and more often than not its unpleasant. The same goes for our Cinderella.. ..Jenni. Many of us spend our lives being afraid of our own desires or being made to feel ashamed of them because they are not what society deems as normal. What is the meaning of that horrid word anyway? Jenni is no different. Being ashamed of herself and her reputation she tries to change it and herself by marrying someone who is her opposite. Too bad that it ended up being a really bad decision. It gets worse as Mark tries to turn the only thing that Jenni holds dear against her and begins to beat her. So, she loses herself in her job and her swimming...the only real escape from her reality. She wants to run away from her marriage but she feels beat down and deserving of her circumstances. Then she comes across her idea of the perfect couple and her whole life changes. Most times our adult fairy tales are quite different from our childhood ones, as Jenni soon discovers when things heat up between our little menage.
This book is about being true to yourself and following your desires, even if they are quite different than those of the general society. Jenni was a real lifelike and likable character faced with real problems. Even though many people in her situation don't get a fairy tale ending, or even close, our Cinderella becomes the heroine in her own adult fairytale. Which just so happens to involve silk ties, sex, and jellyfish! This was a really good read!

W...T....F did I just read. Ok so I'm pretty freaky. I like a good dose of smut as the next chick but this was almost comical because of the things they did here. I only have one word... JELLYFISH! YES, A GODDAMN JELLYFISH!!!! The blob-like sea creature. Sigh. What else am I supposed to talk about? The storyline didn't really mean shit when you read the sex. There were menages with 2 women and 1 guy, breast milk, and other stuff lol.
