Catherine Watson again manages to whisk the reader along to new and intriguing places, places that you'd never think of going, and gives a window into her experiences that make you feel as though you are walking right next to her.

I put this aside after hearing her speak and picked it up after spending a week on Madeline Island and crossing paths with her. Amazing to think this active, somewhat shy person (my impression) could travel the world on her own! Her chapter describing her visit to Easter Island and her deep sense that she felt most at home there but was able to leave was emotionally moving.

Great for armchair traveling or for getting inspiration for more travel. I love how she writes about something that happened during a trip and focuses the column/chapter.

Watson is a brilliant travel writer. Each essay can easily stand alone. I heard her speak last fall, and she's a charming speaker also.
