Re-read 2025: getting back into the excellent Flight Leader boardgame, this is an excellent source for creating one's own scenario match ups of aircraft around the world.

This book could easily rate a 5-stars rating, if only it had covered more recent battles as Operation Praying Mantis, Operation Bolo, El Dorado Canyon and other recent air battles. Although it would be most impossible to cover every

aerial operation since WWI , this book is more comrehensive on more important aspects of aerial operations in the ETO and Pacific theaters . This is a good book for history WWII buffs.

The artwork, data, and historical information on the various aircraft covered in "20th Century Air Warfare" by Chris Bishop is a great addition to any military enthusiast's library. It is among the books that I highly recommend for research on the subject. While the Jane's periodicals are probably the best for serious research, this book is a great supplemental piece for anyone wishing to looking for general information quickly. The book is filled with black-and-white still photos, detailed full color artwork, and three-way (top, side, front) full color images that give the reader a clear view of the aircraft covered in the text and their development. Chris Bishop's book is a great all round military reference manual, period.
