Althea has written some 200 books and illustrated some of these herself. She started writing in 1968 the first ones they (Althea's then husband Mike and her) printed and bound them their selves all 500 copies of each. Desmond the Dinosaur, because she had bought a wooden carving of a dinosaur who looked very miserable, Cuthbert and Bimbo - the story of a giraffe and and an ant on yellow paper, and Benjamin the story of an elephant on grey paper. The rest is history...
Got this because of the page about mammoths but ended up being alessios favourite for the week. Had the whole family super interested in dinosaurs and I’m afraid it’s now our Roman Empire
A work mate lent me this book and suggested I share it with my students. The language was a bit too advanced for them but I agreed and left it out in the classroom for a week. It was an instant hit! There’s just something about dinosaurs that sparks the imagination in children without fail. Admittedly they were just looking at the pictures for the most part but after reading through the book myself I’ll say it’s very good. I highly recommend this one to parents or teachers who have children in the right age category for the material. It’s very well put together and I found myself getting really into it when I was reading through it. Dinosaurs are great and it’s Smithsonian so of course the educational value is high. Great book all around 🦕 dinosaurs are so cool 🦖
Una dintre cele mai bune cărți pe care le-am citit, cu multe informații interesante și ilustrații foarte realiste! O recomand tuturor iubitorilor de animale preistorice!
