A guide for teens to make the best of their high school years written by Oprahs boyfriend - a fact he mentions often.
Some nice ideas in here but nothing concrete that actually helped me as a kid.

Teens Can Make It Happen:Nine Steps To Success
Informational
Stedman Graham
256 pg.
Nine Steps to Success is a how to book. It shares a nine step process to bettering your life and fulfilling your dreams. Stedman Graham has created a process that helps people to take the steps toward bettering their life. The nine steps are: checking your ID, creating your vision, developing plans, taking risk, accepting change, building relationships, making good decisions, and committing. Each step is meant to help you build towards a goal. Each step gets broken down and Stedman dissects the step. He tells you why it is important, what you need to do to complete it, how you can complete the step, and then the author gives an example or examples of the step used correctly or incorrectly. The author uses comparison, analogy, and real life examples to help you understand the step. Then, during each step the author gives a worksheet to help you reflect on the step and to plan how you will use the step towards your own goal. In the end the author’s point is that if you have the right tools and you go for it you can achieve your goal.

Nine Steps to Success was a horrible book. It was very bland and boring. The concepts were good but they were mostly the kind of things I already knew. I also think that each step was too drawn out. This was a book I had to force myself to read just to finish it. However, the ideas put into the book are good. It shares a good message: if you put your mind to it, you can do anything. I would not recommend it unless you need a how to book for class and there aren’t any other options. Overall, it was definitely not my favorite.

I was lucky enough to meet him and have him sign my copy. It`s a great read for those in their early to late teens. But I think more should read it earlier on in their teens. It has some really valid points.
