Utilitarianism/On Liberty/Considerations on Representative Government/Remarks on Bentham's Philosophy

Rate this book
This volume contains three of Mill's most important works. Considered both a guide to efficient, egalitarian state planning and a heartless social policy, "Utilitarianism" (1863) inspired English political philosophy throughout the latter half of the industrial revolution. Also included are some extracts from his "Auguste Comte and Positivism" (1865).

As in all such works, one must wade through a bit of tedium but very much worth it. Chapters and pages read like commentaries written this afternoon about our own mess of a society. Worth a good think.
