This book bordered on being really annoying but In the end I sided with giving an average star rating of 3 instead of two. So this is from the rugrats era where the show really starts to go downhill AFTER the second movie (which I think is good) and when Kimi is a mainstay character. The plot is basically that chuckie goes to the petting zoo with Kimi but in usual chuckie fashion he’s scared of every animal thinking there beasts and has to protect Kimi from them. The things i liked most was the art style, and the clever use of speech bubbles to convey what the parents are actually saying instead of what Chuckie thinks he hears. What I hated about this book was how they spelt everything for the sake of rugrats baby talk. I mean I understand that’s a rugrats staple that they mispronounce words and I can take a little bit of it. But they do it to the extreme point in this book that chuckie says “the toast is clear.” Instead coast! Which is annoying and glaringly so.

This is a book based on the Rugrats television show. In this one baby Chuckie wants to make sure his newly adopted baby sister is safe. So when they go on an adventure (to a petting zoo but it's the jungle in his eyes) He overcomes his fears to keep his baby sister safe.
