A good selection of baby knits ... nice designs that are a little unusual in a wide variety of yarns. Great for grannies with lots of choice. At first glance this appears to be a rather run of the mill baby knit book ... but actually there are some little gems in here, with enough stylish knits to make it good value for money. Mostly knit in DK weight, there are some really nice unusual designs here .. and for once the book is not padded out with too many shawls and blankets (or hideous toys). Nothing overly complicated ... and though not haute-couture, this is definitely head and shoulders above much of the competition.
If you have a little one in your life, this is a great book of knits. There are lots of heirloom-type garments (Lace & Cables Cardigan, Cabled Cardi & Hat) to fun garments (Basic Baby Pants, Asymmetrical Stripes Cardigan, Summer Sunsuit, Striped Top & Pants) to some beautiful necessities (Simple Sleep Sack, booties, and hats). Most of the pieces look to be easy to navigate, the shapes are simple, and since they are small projects, the time commitment is fairly low.
Okay I take a LOT of knitting books out of the library. While you don't "read" a knitting book, I'm including this one in my read books because I selected a baby cardigan and am in the process of knitting it for a most perfect grand niece.
