This was an unbelievable underdeveloped piece of fluff....Unbelievable characters, poor storyline, predictable plot twist....I don't know what else to say about this story. This really bad thing about this story is that it really had potential, the idea of the story was refreshing, however, the author was unable to pull off this story.

Just OK👏🏾🔥👏🏾🔥

Not a bad book, just boring as hell. Even the intimate scenes were boring. The obligatory sex scenes in a story are not necessary, hell sometimes the hint of intimacy is more titillating. A woman in her man's dress shirt with the sleeves rolled up or that t-shirt dropping right at the top of the thighs is just as sexy as anything from Victoria's Secrets to me. Y'all know what I mean.

Now if you deign to write a sex scene, PLEASE make it HOT. I skimmed over the ones in this book and I use the term skimmed loosely. Brushed maybe slid by, I dunno.

The rest of the book was 200 pages too long, utterly predictable and BOOOOOOORING!!😴😴😴

With caveats, I can't even say buy it. Borrowing it would be your best bet.👍🏾🔥👍🏾🔥

I really enjoyed this book. It was the first book I had read from Pat Tucker. I'm really glad that B.J. didn't get the book published but Mona didn't have to do it by gun point. Also I found it funny that Ella kept thinking Taylor would leave his wife for her. Even after Mona told her he wouldn't. Also found it funny that it was a problem when Zeke found out that Jewel was cheating but all the times he cheated on her. Anyways loved it and plan to read more of this authors work.

Praise for Pat Tucker's 'Football Widows'

Pat Tucker's "Football Widows" was a book that I truly enjoyed due to its talk show, and locker room reminiscent flow.
It was similar to 'getting a piece of the action' in the locker rooms of one of the world's most beloved (also highly controversial) sports.
What stood out most for me was the fact that there were no spelling errors, (just joking =) .
Seriously, what stood out for me were the numerous lessons that were reinforced in the book : (1) Appreciate what you have while you have it because one day it could be gone.
(2)Be careful who you trust. Pay attention to the people that you call friends.
(3)Never put anything pass a person when they are angry.
(4) Never forget to embrace the power of forgiveness.
(5) The unexpected may one day become a reality.

The stories of the Football Widows, their relationships, and what they have endured is a great one. It is thought provoking, sweet, scandalous, and lesson revealing. Pat Tucker outdid herself once again. She never dissapoints. I recommend this book to new and seasoned Pat Tucker readers.

Blindsided

As the head coach of the Los Angeles Sea Lions, Taylor Almond and his wife B.J. are NFL royalty. While coach and his assistant coaches were away at training camp, B.J. and the assistant coaches’ wives were headed to the spa for the weekend. After Mona, Lawna and Jewel cancelled, B.J. and Ella Blu still planned to meet. A last minute cancellation and a flat tire, it just seemed that B.J. was destined to be home. Upon arriving home, she catches her husband in their bed with one of the assistant coaches’ wives. If that weren’t bad enough, it’s one of her so-called dear friends she was supposed to be spending the weekend with.

As B.J. shares the information with the rest of their intimate group, she learns that they had previously heard the rumors that their friend was a little too close with coach. Infuriated, B.J. sets out to exact revenge on the entire group. What happens to a woman scorned who you’ve shared all of your dirt with? She writes a tell-all book!

The ladies desperately try to reason with B.J. in order to keep what they do off the field private. However, B.J. refuses to listen. Each one of them has learned to deal with their husband’s lack of attention, the groupies, rumors, lies, secrets and infidelities in their own special ways. Now they have to watch as their lives crumble in the public eye. Can their marriages and lifestyles survive the ridicule?

I was immediately enamored with the title FOOTBALL WIDOWS as well as the cover. I loved that the drama is kicked right off and by time we get to the final down, the ladies have grown. The story doesn’t seem to be complete. Sure we get the full story, but it seems as if it’s been intercepted some. Even with that said, I will be checking for more of Pat Tucker in the future.

Title: Football Widows
Author: Pat Tucker
Rating: 5
Headline: Watch Out Coach!

It has been said that a woman scorned is capable of anything and that is true when we meet B.J. Almond of Football Widows by Pat Tucker. B.J. is the wife of a NFL head coach who walks in on him with another woman. But, it was not just another woman, it was an assistant coaches’ wife, someone she called her friend. And, to add more hurt to B.J., she finds out that her entire circle of friends knew about this ongoing affair, so she decides that she will share all of their deep, dark secrets.

B.J. begins to write her own tell-all story of the lives of coaches’ wives, putting their hidden lifestyles, sexual preferences, and STD’s among other things on full display. Just as B.J. is a woman scorned that will write a book and sue her husband and mistress to maintain her sense of dignity, her friends are then forced to do just about anything to protect their secrets from being revealed. Pat Tucker has written a story that makes all the (wife) reality television shows look like child’s play.

First I would like to state that I enjoyed this book thoroughly. BJ Almond is the wife of Taylor Almond, the head coach of the Los Angeles Sea Lions. When BJ returns home early from a spa vacation, she finds Taylor in bed with her friend and assistant coach's wife, Ella Blu. BJ turns to the comfort of her friends only to find out that they have had an inkling about the goings-on since the beginning. She decides to sue both Taylor and Ella, and write a tell-all book exposes the secret lives of coach's wives called Blowin the Whistle. Mona, Jewel, and Lawna must now find a way to stop the book from coming out befor their lives are ruined.
This was a page-turner. There was so much drama. Each of these wives had their dirty little secrets that one will stop at nothing to keep hidden. I found myself defending BJ in the beginning with her lawsuit and the tell-all book. Once I learned the secrets that she was putting out there, I began to feel sorry for her friends. This is a good winter read.

FOOTBALL WIDOWS is a fast paced fiction story that deals with the lives of the wives of NFL Coaches. While the coaches are busy handling their teams during football season, the wives are off having the time of their lives. With access to plenty of money and the perks that go along with the NFL's finest, these women lead an exciting exsistence, but in the case of the wife of the coach of the LA Sea Lions, it all comes to a screeching halt when she finds her husband in bed with an assistant coach's wife.

She quickly files for divorce but goes two steps further by suing the "other" woman and writing a tell all book on the exploits of the other wives of the coaching staff. No need to say this is causing havoc among the Sea Lions but the head coach's wife holds all the cards and it spells trouble for everyone involved.

I found FOOTBALL WIDOWS to be mildly interesting and typical of the current take on women associated with men in the sports world.

This book reminds me of high-school... girls sharing all of their boy business with each other in groupie clicks...the night-life...bed-hopping...trips to the clinics...the whispers...hurt feelings...and revenge in the all-about-me fashion...which actually is what makes reading the story fun. Mona was my favorite. She made looking forward to the end a treat. I liked Jewel too... especially when they went to do the face-off with B.J. at the studio. Oh, how fun... and funny was that car scene after B.J. stormed off, which incidentally is where the story gets interesting, and by my take, really good.

Overall I would expect young people to find Football Widows a real treat, and adults too, since there's not a lot of emotion to invest getting through the antics that read (in places) like borrowed pieces of other real lives, and stories, in the homogenized entertaining fashion.

This was my first read of 2012. It caught my eye simply because it reminded me of the shows football wives and basketball wives, which I loved both. The book did not disappoint. There was drama from page 1 and I was interested to find out what happend on up until the very last page. This book was good, it was like watching a soap opera drama unfold right before your very eyes. This book was totally fictional, it contained lots of juicy details about this group of coaches wives without being rauncy or ghetto. It's a very fast read and I would definately recommend it for anyone looking for a quick fictional read.

After reading Daddy by Default I thought that I had found a new favorite author. Upon finishing this book (which I had to literally force myself to ready at times) what was I thinking?? I could see where see was trying to go with the story but it fell flat and short from that goal. Going back and forth with should she write the book , should she not write the book... took to much time out of THIS BOOK!

Disappointed!

Whew....I was sucked into the story from page one until the very last word. This is reality TV in a book...you are never sure what's true and what's fiction...oh, it's ALL fiction. Pat Tucker thanks for the crazy departure from my daily grind...Football Widows is unforgettable. I'm ready for your next release.

I enjoyed this book. The main character BJ is a nice person and good wife and friend. She didn't deserve to her husband to have an affair with her friend. I can understand how angry she gets for their betrayal. Being betrayed by people that you trust can make you very revengeful and I think the tell all book about her friends was a way of her expressing her anger against them.

This was a quick read filled with scandal. At times, I felt like I was confusing two of the characters,Jewel and Lawna because in my opinion the development of their personalities was not too distinct.I would have enjoyed a little bit more language relating to football. I would read more of Pat Tucker's books.

B.J. comes home one day only to find her best friend Ella, in bed with her husband. She is so enraged that she decides to write a tell-all book about all her friends. Jewel who is sleeping with a woman, Lawna who picks up random men from websites and has sex with them. There is also Mona who is crazy and has OCD. When the men find out, there will be hell to pay. I enjoyed the book, it was almost like watching an episode of "Real Housewives", so I think the story deserved 4 stars. However, theres nothing I hate more than typos in books, and this one had several, so I had to knock the overall rating down to 2 stars.

I was a little bored with the book until the end when all the drama unfolded and than the book came to an end. So as a result of the beginning of the book, I really kept putting this book off and than I finally rushed thru it. Glad I'm thru with it.

This interesting story is about The wives of the football coaches, not the players, and what happens when one of the is betrayed. I'm still not a fan of football, but this did give me some insight into some of the issues the wives have to deal with.
