A little background for this book.
The original copy of this book is locked safely away and inside the cover is a signed message by Roy P. Benavidez. While I was just a baby when my parents ran into him during their vacation, it is something I hold close to my heart. This man (we discovered during said vacation) is a cousin in a long line of cousins.
We Benavidez's are EVERYWHERE.
Having read this book the first time, I was fascinated. Reading it a second and third time, I swear everything just becomes all the more respectable.
I don't know if it's a must-read only because of the bias that I have towards this book. But if anything it's a wonderful look at some history, and the way things were.
