Rate this book
George Stella goes back to the basics in his fifth book on low carb cooking. Stella's Still Livin' Low Carb is the long awaited follow-up to Livin' Low Carb . The book highlights Stella's passion for fresh foods with 80 new recipes that were years in the making. The book also features 50 of his all-time best recipes, chronicling over a decade of innovative ideas for reinventing family favorites using only fresh foods that are naturally low in carbs. Several recipes from George Stella's Food Network show Low Carb and Lovin' It also appear here in print for the very first time. Beyond that, eight of his signature recipes―like Asparagus and Cheese Soufflé, Spinach and Artichoke Stuffed Chicken, Tequila Marinated London Broil, and Stella Style Ricotta Cheesecake―are laid out with step-by-step photographs so you can easily follow along.  George Stella's low carb cookbooks are well known for not only inspiring millions to lose weight, but also for how the Stella family did by cooking and eating great recipes made from easy-to-find fresh foods that anyone can get in their local supermarket. Stella's down-to-earth voice and love of comfort foods have put his books at the very top of every health-conscious person's cookbook collection.

Are all the additions of ‘bulk sugar substitutes’ really necessary?

Sad to see that nearly every recipe has an added sweet component in bulk sugar substitutes. Is this really necessary? I bought the book because as a diabetic, I eat low carb, and thought this might give me more ideas, but recipes containing sugar substitutes aren’t really that good for us, we’re trying to wean ourselves off sugar! Some substitutes still raise blood sugar, and Splenda in the UK tends to contains maltodextrin and 95% dextrose! You’d be as well just using sugar, but I bet you get lots of dollars for endorsing the product........
