With chaos following in her wake, it is ultimately a fledgling conscience that may lead to E.V.E's undoing. Surrounded by forces bent on her total annihilation, E.V.E finds herself fighting against all odds, leaving only one last dire question to be answered. Can she save the world she was built to destroy?
I bought this in its single comic book issues, but I’ve chosen this TPB edition to be able of making a better overall review.

AMERICANIME, ANYONE?
I was real lucky to be able of getting this miniseries in its single comic book issues, since when it was originally published, it wasn’t any easy at all to get this kind of indy comic books in my country (Costa Rica) but thanks to a dear friend, I got it, I’d missed the first issue, but a couple of years ago, when now it’s possible to find comic books through my local comic book store, finally I was able to complete the miniseries.
E.V.E. Protomecha is kinda Battle Angel Alita meets Robocop with some elements additional too.
This is a clear example of an american comic book heavily influenced on the hype of anime that was at its peak, back at the beginning of the new millenium, before that live-action super-hero films would take the mantle of leading geek realm.
The artwork is totally awesome and it’s the strongest element about this miniseries, since while the story has a good basis, it’s developed in a very cliché way, with too basic character development and resting too much in the action area.
In a cold and distant future, in a planet that not necessarily is Earth (since it’s not mentioned and an extra moon at the night sky), a meteorite fell and changed in drastic way the global environment turning quite snowy the whole ambiance around the world. A genius scientist has been crucial to the military technology progress but now the good ol’ man wants to make something different…
…Enter: E.V.E. Protomecha.
A revolutionary android with memories of someone from the past of the scientist. So far, so good, BUT...
...here, the story turned quite messy adding some paranormal beings claiming to be angels (regular type humanoid angels with wings and all) asking for a murdering crusade to the scientist and his brand-new creation.
Obviously these angels have an insidious agenda and E.V.E. Protomecha becomes a naively pawn in their plans which put her right away in a clash against the government military forces featuring different classes of mechas.
The miniseries is fair if you’re looking for a fast entertainment without much depth. Quick to read and astonishing to the eye.
This was eh. Very 90's-early 00's. An old scientist attempts to finally make the daughter he could never have. A cybernetic woman. Though he can't give her actual life. These Gods show up and give her life if the scientist makes her do their bidding. There's a twist there that everyone saw coming from a mile away. Things turn bad and she kills people and yadda yadda. It's all just slop. Nothing super interesting or important happens. There's some cool mechs and decent fights. But there's no real substance. A few plot points that they try to make you care about. But it's all very surface level and very bland. Not one I would recommend. But also not the type of book I would typically enjoy.
My god this was a boring graphic novel. It was like taking every bad, uncreative, lame mecha book and throwing in some sexist nudity and some poorly written plot about angels and demons. I thought it was pretty terrible actually.
