This story starts with a curse. Record Mason's whole life has been a curse, actually. At least that's what her parents have always told her. It's kind of a long story. She's sick of being a problem for her family and bringing them down with her bad luck though, so she packs up her old car and hits the road. She's got a plan... kind of. That plan comes to a screeching halt when her car breaks down just outside of Destiny Falls, Michigan. Luckily for her, she has a friend that lives in town and after a call to the local mechanic, she's determined to get back on with her new life. Then Gavin hops out of the tow truck. She's into the sexy mechanic from the first moment, but she can't forget the curse. She's trying to get away from people so that she can't hurt them, so she needs to stay away from him at all costs. Except Gavin doesn't seem to want her to. When she tells him about the curse, he laughs in her face. Then he shows up the next day, determined to prove her wrong. Will Gavin be able to break the curse, or is Record destined to a solitary existence?

This was such a strange book! The story line moved way too quickly and almost every aspect of it felt completely unbelievable.

How is it that Record is smart enough to put herself through college yet believes she is such a failure and a curse? Her parents use her and steal from her because they are too lazy to hold down regular jobs yet blame Record's curse for it. So Record leaves town intending to find a place to hide away and work on her art but her car breaks down in her old college roommates town. The day after Gavin tows it to his shop Record tells him all about her curse so he sets out to prove she's wrong by filling the entire day with thrilling activities until Record finally has an epiphany that her parents lied her entire life. Then Gavin kisses her and takes her virginity up against a car! SERIOUSLY? A week later, ten days after arriving in town, Record tells Gavin she's planning to stay and persue her art by teaching kids. But Gavin gets upset because he wants to teach her how to paint CARS so she can work for him! Because painting canvases and cars are almost the same, right? And that didn't come across as manipulative at all. Sounds like history repeating itself. And if that wasn't crazy enough, the emotionally abusive parents and sister that she's had NO contact with, somehow figure out where she is and show up right then and demand that she come home - to take care of them - since they raised her and allowed her to live at home and SUPPORT THEM after college. UGH!! Finally, Record grows a backbone and insists her parents leave but she'll keep her eighteen year old sister there who apologizes and doesn't want to go back with the crazy parents. And right there Gavin professes his love for Record and she for him. It all ends with a five year later epilogue of their HEA.

I do not understand the great reviews for this book. I just didn't get it.

This is book number 5 of the Destiny Falls series and focuses on Gavin and Record. Record has spent her life being treated awful by her parents and made to feel like she was cursed because of something that happened before she was born. She finally decides that enough is enough and packs up all her belongings and hits the road away from them. Of course thanks to some bad luck (in her eyes), she ends up breaking down right outside of Destiny Falls where her old college suitemate Madelyn lives. She decides to call her and Madelyn has her come and stay with her and Flynn while she is waiting on her car to be fixed. What Record didn’t expect was Gavin and the way she reacts to him. When he comes to tow her car to bring it to his shop, they are both completely captivated by each other but Record tries to keep her distance from him. Thankfully Gavin is not having that and decides to show her that she isn’t cursed at all. I loved that Gavin didn’t let Record keep him at an arm's length and that they were absolutely perfect for each other. Gavin was exactly what Record needed after growing up the way she did. This was a wonderful story and a wonderful addition to the series!

This is book five in The Destiny Falls Series and it is Record and Gavin's story. Because of her family Record believed that she is cursed so she lacks up everything that she can and decides to go to Destiny Falls where she has friend's and stay with them and away from any romantic involvement so nobody else can get hurt only her car breaks down and when the Gavin who is the mechanic steps out of his truck Record is taken back by how handsome he is but she is determined to keep away even though there attraction and chemistry between them is so strong right from the start. Gavin is taken back with how beautiful Record is and when he hears about the curse that her family has told her that she has he is determined to show and prove to Record that it is not true and deserves to be happy and he wants to be the man that she will choose to be with but will be succeed only time will tell what the outcome would be for them. I really enjoyed reading this book and I couldn't put it down as the story took you in right from the start and kept your attention throughout and I can't wait to read more book's in this series.

Cursed is Record and Gavin's story and one that will have stopping in your tracks.

Record has been told her entire life that she was responsible for all the bad in her parents' lives - loss of jobs, loss of home, car accidents. If you can think it, her parents blamed her, on top of that they made her pay saying she owed them.

Tired of the treatment, Record decided it was time to leave when her care broken down just outside Destiny Falls - curse or fate.

Gavin is the town's mechanic and was called to help Record. Seeing her at her car he knew she was his, but as day went by Record ran hot then cold. When Gavin found out why, he was determined to have her change her mind.

Love this story, the strength and care Gavin gave Record to get her to see the truth and the passion he had to be there for her when her family came around. This is a great story that I did not want to put down.

I have read all of the books in this series and each one is as good as the last. This book, the fifth, is as good as the first! Gavin is a self proclaimed loner who owns the local auto repair shop and tow truck. Record is running from her family who has done nothing but belittle and use her her entire life. Her car breaks down outside of town and she calls her friend Madelyn. Record is immediately taken in by Madelyn and her group of friends. Gavin shows Record that she is not cursed as her parents have made her believe and the two fall in love. This is a great story! I loved watching Record realize her parents’ problems weren’t here doing and that is an amazing woman. You can read this book as a stand alone, but is better if you’ve read the other stories.

Gavin is the owner of a garage in Destiny Falls and when Record's car breaks down he has to find parts for her classic Mustang before he can fix it. Record realizes her best friend from college lives in Destiny Falls so she stays with them while the car is being fixed. When Gavin hears Record's story of how she is cursed and doesn't want to get close to him afraid he might get hurt he decides to prove to her she is not cursed. This is a fast paced short easy to read novella and has some great characters. Liked this book a lot.

One day she disappears from home and wants to leave everything behind. She's going to Destiny Falls. When she meets Gavin the attraction is palpable and he helps her to show her that she can do more than she thinks and that she deserves everything she deserves and that she can be happy and believe in love and that she is worth it.
The characters and characters are wonderfully worded, it was a wonderful book to read.

Cursed is the fifth book in the Destiny Falls series and this one was a sweet and smokin' hot read. The story is about Record and Gavin. She believes she is cursed because she has been told that by her family for her entire life. When she finally is able to break away from her parents she ends up in Destiny Falls. Some would say it is her curse as her car broke down. But it seems her luck is about to do a 180 when she meets Gavin, the tow truck driver. All he knows is that she is his lucky charm and is not about to let her get away from him no matter how hard she might try.

This was a really good book. I really liked the connection and chemistry between Gavin and Record. Record has been hearing negatives all her life including being a curse, so she decides to leave her family, so they have better luck. When she gets to Destiny Falls and with the help of Gavin, a man she can't stop thinking about, she learns to believe in herself, and true love is possible. I really enjoyed this book and thought that this was a great addition to this series.

I love this series and Gavin and Record's story did not disappoint. While Record has been (brainwashed) convinced by her parents that she is cursed, Gavin won't let that stop him from proving that no curse can keep them apart. After a series of high flying adventures Gavin is able to prove the curse doesn't exist and Record is finally able to not just walk away from her toxic family but does so with the love and support of her new friends and Gavin behind her.

This was such a short sweet instalove romance. I loved the feel of the story and it had a wonderful pace. I was hooked from the start. Record and Gavin had such a strong connection and really great chemistry. I love how this series is mainly from the women’s point of view but then we get the men’s in the epilogue and this was also the case here. I just really loved this story.
