THE ENDS DON’T JUSTIFY THE MEANS

The Relentless Pursuit books will be two books that need to be read in order. Yes, for those who hate them, book one does end on a cliffhanger that will be resolved in book two. Now, if you aren’t aware, during the Nazis’ invasion and extermination of millions of people, they also laid claim to priceless artwork and jewelry. In these stories, that is the catalyst of these tales—a woman who is continuing her grandfather’s legacy of righting wrongs, and a man who discovers who the thief is and must save her and protect her from prison—or even death.

Claire Mitchell is a master thief, following in her late grandfather’s footsteps of removing valuable pieces stolen during World War II and returning them to the rightful families from where they were confiscated. Most of the pieces are well-insured by their ‘present-day’ owners. There is one necklace that is heavily guarded that she is determined to get and it is how Claire and Fletch meet.

Ryland ‘Fletch’ Fletcher is former special forces and along with other team members, he has created a company called Silver Arrow Security. His company will be hired to safeguard valuable pieces, ones that are even on loan to museums. His present piece is the Grenadine Necklace displayed at the Metropolitan Museum of London.

The story becomes a game of cat and mouse between Claire and Fletch. Claire’s degree and reputation in priceless art restoration will allow her ease of access to museums. Meeting Fletch wasn’t in the plans, but it happened and wow, there is chemistry between them.

“Sleep would come when she had obtained her prize. The question now was which prize did she want more—the necklace or the man?”

I love a great mystery/suspense with romance and once again, Ms. Delta James delivered. The two main characters, Claire and Fletch have that chemistry—but they also have plenty of angst. Fletch and his team realize that the jewel thief is Claire, and with an exorbitant bounty on her head, her life is in danger. But it won’t just be Claire, it will include her best friend and partner, Mia. How will Fletch and Clark protect Claire and Mia—from danger, and from themselves? You must read and learn more and the second book, My Fair Thief, will release on June 16th.

This contemporary romance is page-turning in every sense with exceptional world-building and characters that are realistic. Their journey is enthralling with loving a thief, explicit romance that is consumed by steamy passion, lust, desire, and spice with all the feelings, distraction could be undoing or death sentence, a master jewel thief, a secret, thrill of the heist is exciting, family honor, an investigator, trust issues, game of cat and mouse turned deadly, heart-pounding action, edge of your seat suspense and a steamy romance that heats every page, romantic suspense, enemies-to-lovers, drama, heartfelt emotions, adventure, and more. I recommend reading this book by an extraordinary author who knows how to captivate her reader's hearts and attention with loving a thief and a relentless pursuit that will have readers begging for more.

When the thief he is chasing becomes more than just a job, will the distraction be his undoing or her death sentence?

Claire Mitchell is a master jewel thief, who has a secret. Although the thrill of the heist is exciting there is a reason behind her choice of profession. Family honor above all else. It was the perfect plan… until he interfered.

Ryland Fletcher is the investigator determined to catch her. As he tracks Claire and gets to know her, he finds there are more questions than answers. He doesn’t trust the beautiful thief in his bed, but it doesn’t stop him from wanting her. The risk is life or death, but the rewards are too great to resist.

What begins as a heist of the century turns into a game of cat and mouse. When their game of cat and mouse turns deadly can he bring her in?.

This is the first book in a duet. This book does end on a cliffhanger, but My Fair Thief will be out on June 16. I usually avoid cliffhangers, but this is one of my favorite authors...

Claire is a master jewel thief who liberates items stolen by the Nazis and their collaborators and gives them back to their original owners, with the provenance they need to prove their claim. She meets Fletch while trying to liberate a famous neckless. He and his company have been hired to protect the necklace. When they meet, the chemistry between them blows up. The problem is that Fletch sees things in black and white and Claire sees them in shades of gray.

This new direction that the author is moving in is wonderful. The cat-and-mouse game that Claire and Fletch play is dangerous. I loved the chemistry between the two characters and look forward to reading their game's conclusion.

I received an advance copy and this is my honest review.

'To Love a Thief' started off a bit slow for me for some reason but we did eventually click and then the storyline seemed to pick up speed. It's definitely an enemy to lover storyline between a master jewel thief with a snappy, quick wit and a retired military turned investigator/security who sees things mostly in black or white. I enjoyed this tremendously and look forward to seeing how it plays out between them and the three entities Fletch is dealing with.

What a great beginning to this two book series. Claire and Fletcher have quite the unusual start to their relationship. She’s an art historian and restorer, he’s the head of a security firm, trying to prevent the theft of priceless pieces of art and jewelry . When things really go a-rye, they find themselves in quite the awkward and romantic situation. When danger comes Claire’s way, Fletcher try’s to work it out, but she bolts for the safety of everyone concerned. Can’t wait till June to find out what happens!.

This book was so much fun to read as Claire is a a jewel thief that returns the stolen jewelry to the rightful owners. Ryland is the security specialist that is trying to find out the identity of the thief as there is a huge bounty for turning in the thief.

Claire just won't give up what she feels is her life's calling to follow in her grandfather's footsteps even at the cost of her love for Ryland.

Ryland at least has gone from wanting to take her down and get the bounty to trying to find a way out of her life of crime so they can have a life together.

Can't wait for book 2 as I did not realize this was a 2 book set and it ends with a cliffhanger!.

Even knowing this was a duet (probable cliffhanger), I was so caught up in what was going on with Fletch, Claire, Mia, and Carter that I was still shocked when the book ended. (Definite cliffhanger).

I had so many mixed feelings about Claire. I loved that she was intelligent, bold, daring, strong, and independent. On the other hand, I hated that she either could not see or was not willing to see beyond the legacy she felt her grandfather left her. Mia even tried to get her to understand the life she was leading was not what he would have wanted for her.

I liked Fletch and Claire together. Their personalities were very complementary. I liked their easy banter. As Claire was fighting her feelings for Fletch, there was still that underlying sexual tension between them.

I also enjoyed the danger, mystery, suspense, and intrigue of Claire and Mia being in someone's crosshairs. It made me wonder if it was someone's name that had already been mentioned, or if there was a new player to the game?

I always like when a tech aspect is introduced to a storyline. I am looking forward to anything that may happen with Mia and Carter. I find techies interactions to usually be pretty entertaining.

I have a sneaking suspicion that Evangeline is going to pop up like bad penny. She didn't strike me as the type to let Fletcher make that kind of move with no repercussions involved.

I will say that it seemed to me this first book of the duet was a bit more tame than I am used to from this author. That was not a negative, just difference. It took nothing away from the story being entertaining. I can't wait to see what the next book has to offer.

I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

rue to form, Ms. James has delivered this high-tech and challenging look into the criminal world of stolen artwork and jewelry. I was caught up in this saga from the beginning while looking through the eye of the storm filled with danger, anticipation, suspense, and returning stolen items to their rightful. One thing that the author does in this book shatters the stereotypical expectations of what or who a thief looks like. I felt that Claire was sometimes overconfident, and I was waiting for her to slip up. She was no shrinking violet and stood firm in her beliefs, but had she met her match in Fletcher.

Claire Mitchell was a modern-day Robin Hood. A dark angel determined to follow in her grandfather's footsteps by returning items stolen by the Nazis to their rightful owners. No one had matched her skills until Fletcher came into the picture. Fletcher’s security team, “ Silver Arrow Security,” were hired to protect the precious jewelry on exhibition. This is where the fun starts, with sparks flying left, right, and center between Claire and Fletcher.

I loved this deep dive. It's an exciting start, and I'm glad I don't have to wait too long for book two.

First off this is set of two books that need to be read in order. I HATE when authors do this and leave a big cliffhanger. However on the plus side the books are short so you can read them in a day or two.
This is insta-lust for sure but the characters seem as surprised at this as the reader. Both have been on their own for long time (for him 18 months, for her longer). She is a thief and he is security company owner that protects valuables from thieves, so not exactly compatible couple...smirk.
This is erotic, suspenseful and fast paced. Can hardly wait to read the 2nd book and find out what happens.

This is book one of the Relentless Pursuit series and the main characters are master jewel thief Claire Mitchell, who also works as an art restorer, and Ryland Fletcher, who formed Silver Arrow Security and works with insurance companies amongst others, to keep their valuables safe from thieves. Claire is following the secret life of her Poppi, her grandfather, who raised her from an early age after her parents died in a car crash. She was raised in a small cottage on Sir Godfrey’s estate where her Poppi worked as the horse master and chauffeur and she got an education on a par to the peer’s own daughter. A nice agreement her Poppi sorted after Sir Godfrey’s father tried to have him killed and killed Claire’s parents instead! He made great use of his skills as a master jewel thief to steal from the wealthy he came into contact with, making sure the jewels made their way back to their rightful owners, not those who had them before he stole them! Claire found his stash under the floorboards and wanted to be like him, but was made to get her degree first, so she had a steady job to give her a cover. She works with her former roommate at a Swiss boarding school, Mia Kelly, who is the tech whizz, working as a freelance software tech and has helped Claire continue her sideline activities with all the extra technology used nowadays to keep items secure. Claire has made two attempts to steal a certain necklace, the Grenadine Necklace and been foiled both times. Now she is going to try for a third and final time, as Mia refuses to help her another time, as things are hotting up.

On her previous attempt, a man bumped into her at the museum where the necklace was on show, spilling his drink all over her dress. He is Ryland Fletcher and his company were sent to keep the necklace safe by the insurance company, after the first attempt to steal it was figured out. No one knows the identity of the thief and Ryland thinks it is a man, but his suspicions are raised by Claire’s late arrangement for her ticket for the evening. He checks who she is and soon is starting to ask questions. When he spoke to her that night, he made some comments about what he wanted to do with her, whilst she made some cutting remarks about his cheap tuxedo and shoes! He has more questions than answers about Claire, but a deep dive soon finds the links to her Poppi and his former career as a jewel thief. The thefts of jewels have been going on for far longer than Claire has been alive, but it seems like maybe she has been carrying on her grandfather’s legacy! He is determined to stop her from stealing the necklace and even her reasons for doing what she does, don’t matter to him as theft is theft to him. There is a huge ten million bounty on her head that she didn’t know about and there is someone else making threats to her and Mia via a black web chat room, wanting the necklace for themselves.

Fletch wants Claire, but whether he can persuade her to follow the straight and narrow, as well as return the necklace to him, is going to be difficult. She can’t resist talking to him to see what he knows and suspects, but one meeting turns to more and he ends up in her bed, doing exactly as he promised to her body. He can’t stay away from her, but she still refuses to stop working on her grandfather’s legacy, but Mia gets extremely worried about the dark web threat and the unknown person behind it seems to know exactly who they are and have proof they stole the necklace. If that gets turned over, then they will be in trouble and no doubt lose their freedom. It seems Fletch knows of the other players that might be behind threats on Claire in particular, and he has his own team to keep the two women safe, with his tech guy Carter showing signs of being interested in Mia, in the same way he is with Claire. When Claire mentions someone was tailing her, she thought it was one of her team, but it is an unknown and dangerous foe who isn’t happy to allow Fletch to get the necklace back, as he has claimed he can! Mia wants Claire to seriously think about stopping for good and just remember all the good she has done so far. Ryland knows of three parties interested in the return of the necklace, Benito Petacci, the patriarch of the Petacci family, Sir Godfrey Robbins, who is worried about secrets her Poppi knew about his father, and then the mysterious Swiss banker, Emil Franklin. One of them is trying to threaten Fletch, but that won’t work so well with the people Fletch has around him. A surprise ending as Claire makes her decision of what to do next and has to make a huge sacrifice, to do what she thinks is right. I can’t wait to see what happens to them all next and to find out what these secrets were and how dangerous they could still be. I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.

This was an enemies to lovers romantic suspense.

This author is one of the very few I will break my cliff hanger rule for. The story was well paced, steamy, suspenseful and setup the second book of the duet very well. The characters were realistic and relatable. Highly recommend!

Claire Mitchell is a master jewel thief, a trade she learned from her grandfather. Their mission is to recover artwork stolen by the Nazis and return it to the rightful owners. Her day job is as an art recovery and restoration expert.

Ryland Fletcher is the founder of the Silver Arrow Security agency. He is an American who fell in love with the Devon countryside and bought a farm there after leaving active military duty. He breeds and raised horses on the farm.

Fletch was hired to protect the Grenadine Necklace while it is on display at the London Met museum and to safely return it to Paris. Claire planned to steal the necklace at the fundraising gala but had to abort those plans at the last minute. Her best friend Mia, a technical genius, helps her steal and return the artwork. After literally bumping into Claire at the gala, Fletch finds out who she is and has his team dig up any information on her. They meet again at the museum when she brazenly steals the necklace in broad daylight. He asks her to dinner and they hookup at her home. Next morning he searches her house and barn looking to confirm his suspicions. He and his technical guy Carter go out to her house where she and Mia are when they get attacked by a hit squad. They flee to one of his safe houses. After spending the night together where he declares his feelings for her, she escapes the safe house with help from Mia, to continue her art theft. The conclusion of their story is in book 2 of the duet.

“To Love a Thief” is a steamy enemies-to-lovers, romantic suspense novel. It’s the first of a two-book sequence entitled ‘Relentless Pursuit’ that must be read in order. I am generally not a fan of cliffhangers at all. However, in this story it works.

Claire is a woman dedicated to a clear mission – she steals back precious jewelry that was initially stolen from Holocaust victims and returns the items to descendants of the original owners. It’s almost an obsession, and she inherited the passion for the dangerous tasks from her beloved grandfather. The author does an impressive job blending fact and fiction about this in the book. Fletcher (a.k.a. Fletch) is an American security expert whose company is protecting a valuable necklace initially stolen from a Holocaust victim. He and Claire immediately share a mutual attraction and equally mutual sense of opposition. Fletch needs protect a particular piece of jewelry, and then he needs to find the skilled thief. The cat-and-mouse interplay between them is enhanced by the well-crafted dialogue.

Throughout the story, there is a push-pull dynamic between Claire and Fletcher. I must say, when it comes to Claire, Fletch has the patience of a saint and an incredible ability to forgive. There are complicated moral, ethical, and legal issues covered in the plot, and I thought it was impressive how effectively that was achieved without slowing down the pace of the book. Each of the main characters has a best friend who is a key secondary character, and who helps provide some humor and lightness within the story. I will be reading the next story so I can learn the conclusion of this one, and I’m looking forward to it.

Claire Mitchell is a thief… an art thief, and a very good one. Her motives are honorable, but the act is still a crime. Following in the steps of her grandfather, she steals from those who possess valuable art originally stolen by the Nazis during WWII and returns them to the original owners or whoever is left of their families. The same goes for jewelry.

The agents of Cerberus, operating out of their London headquarters, are assigned to protect a particularly valuable ruby and diamond piece currently on display at the Metropolitan Museum in London, called the Grenadine Necklace. Operative Ryland Fletcher (Fletch) was in charge. Claire's opportunity to snatch the necklace was foiled at the last minute by an electronic glitch of unknown origin, but Fletch and Claire literally ran into each other at the event, and Fletch wanted to learn more about Claire. There was definitely something about her that intrigued him.

While Claire pursues her Robin Hood theatrics, Fletch pursues her on a personal level, until Claire tries for the necklace a second time. Tension begins to amp up while Fletch tries to solve the puzzle of the stolen necklace. He knows Claire took it, but where is it?

The insurance company puts up a $10M reward, and "somebody" knows she has the necklace because they try to blackmail her. Everything is coming to a head as Fletch tries to protect Claire, and she's determined to leave. After all, she's an expert at escaping.

"To Love a Thief" is an exciting adventure, full of fantastic and witty dialog, hot scenes and a less-than-ideal ending, making way for the conclusion in "My Fair Thief."

The only thing wrong with this book is its ending, or its non-ending. It is a "to be continued," story that, fortunately, has already had the second part of the duet written.

Claire Mitchell is a jewel thief. Her grandfather raised her after her parents were killed and he was also a jewel thief. Claire followed in his footsteps not because he wanted her too, but because the stealing was for a higher cause. Everything they stole originally belonged to victims of the Nazi madness. Precious jewels are returned to the families of those who legally owned them, righting some of the many wrongs perpetuated on the helpless. Claire had a day job as a renowned art appraiser and restorer. This gave her a great cover when she needed one and admitted her to places where those who thought themselves special socialized. The kind of people who came into possession of things they shouldn't have.

Ryland Fletcher, or Fletch, is in the security business. He has been hired to protect a necklace that Claire plans to steal. She is not prepared for the way he makes her feel when he touches her, or even when he just tells her all the things he wants to do to her. Seeing him socially is playing with fire, but she can't seem to help herself. When the necklace disappears from the museum where it is being temporarily displayed, Claire knows that Fletch is onto her. He may not be able to prove she took it, but he knows she has it. Unfortunately, he is not the only one who is sure she's in possession of the item - and the other person is an even bigger threat.

I was given an advanced copy of this book by the author. My review is voluntary.

I am probably one of Delta's biggest fans. I adore everything she writes...and yes, I read it BEFORE I say that, though by this point I hardly have to. This book was quite different from the rest of her books that I've read, and I was wonderfully thrilled at how intrequed I was by characters. Claire Mitchell is the first person readers are introduced to. She is a beautiful, intelligent, talented artist / restoration specialist. Oh, she is also a Master Thief! Yeah, she has her reasons for this - for that you have to read. Things are going along as planned for her and her assistant (Mia) until they run into Silver Arrow Security run by Ryland Fletcher.

The MCs are at odds regarding the thefts. She perpetrates while it's his job to not only ensure against theft but to apprehend the thief as well. This plays out while the two are simultaneously drawn physically to eachother in a way neither can quite comprehend. Will one, or both, of them compromise their beliefs or position on the theft issue to enable the relationship component to build? Will their passion be nothing more than a flight of fancy on a holy mission?

This is part 1 of a 2 part duet, which concludes with MY FAIR THIEF. I was fortunate enough to receive an ARC of this book, and I can definately 100% attest that I will be reading the next half when it's available. The interplay between MCs was quick and kept me highly engaged. The secondary characters were more than simple chess pieces moved about strategically for effect. There was personality and action running throughout the pages of the book and I can’t wait to see how all of it plays out in the end. Join me? Happy Reading 📚

Take a deep breath and hang on for a wild ride - this is a top notch thriller/steamy romance hybrid that commands your attention from the first page through the last. I don’t normally read a book that ends in a cliffhanger unless I can immediately start the next book that resolves it, but this is Delta James, so naturally I eagerly dove right in. Also, it helps to know the second book of this duet will come out in just a few short weeks.

As is typical with Delta’s books, not only are the hero/heroine engaging, but the secondary characters are just as appealing (in fact we readers have gotten pretty spoiled, waiting impatiently for them to pop up in books of their own).

To Love a Thief shares a few plot elements with Ruthless Honor, minus the shifter storyline – in both books, the heroine is a skilled thief who steals to right wrongs and the hero is determined to protect her. When Claire first bumps (literally) into Fletch, she has just completed one successful theft that night and is eyeing her next target – a priceless necklace on display at the Metropolitan Museum of London. Fletch is there to provide security for the necklace…and the cat and mouse game is on.

Despite strongly opposing worldviews, Claire and Fletch share a powerful attraction; I know they’ll eventually get their HEA by the end of the second book. In the meantime, I’m certainly enjoying their journey.

A little slow to start but then became a page-turner. This is the 1st of 2 books and it ended on a cliffhanger.

Claire Mitchell is a jewel thief. Her grandfather was a jewel thief. BUT in his mind, he was righting the wrongs of the Nazis who took jewels, art, and other items from their rightful owners during World War II. When Claire discovered her grandfather was stealing, she started to return these precious jewels. After all, she had trained to restore artworks that were damaged. Her grandfather left her his legacy to continue with his work. Claire and her best friend, who happens to be a computer whiz, teamed up to steal the jewels.

Fletch, former special ops, now the owner of Silver Arrow Security, is tasked with keeping a very expensive necklace safe. Claire, on her 3rd attempt, stole the necklace. Fletch and Claire have sexual fireworks between them. He tries to protect her when someone attempts to kill both of them.

Fletch says there is a better way of being able to return the stolen property to their rightful owners but Claire believes the only way is to steal it and to show the provenance for the rightful owner. While Fletch is making deals to keep her out of jail and alive, Claire slips away. Fletch is devastated as he has fallen in love and Claire chose to be a jewel thief over the love she has for Fletch.

Now the hunt is on to find her before she is killed. Many want her dead or in jail.

Ryland’s been everything until this last case, he has been chasing them now its become an obsession
Claire Mitchell is a master Jewel thief, she has a good reason for her choice of profession it is not a simple whim it is down to family loyalty, something that she keeps very private and plays close to her chest as she does not want to get caught.

They say that some thieves are honourable and she has always tried to be like this and she hopes that this will always see her through each of her jobs without any mishaps, anyone being hurt or her being caught.

Ryland Fletcher is an investigator that excels at his job and he is always on call for the larger trickier jobs and so when the current jewel thief he is trying to catch is proving to be more inciteful than he is used to as well as very clever as well.

I guarantee that as you read this simply great story you will feel his surprise as the thief’s identity becomes apparent and the clever way in which this book has been written as well will leave you looking forward to the next book in the duet.

I assure you that you will love every moment of this book it is simply a fantastic read.

This is book one in The Relentless Pursuit Duet and it is Claire and Fletch’s story. Claire is a master thief but there is a catch because she takes what had been stolen and returns it to its rightful owners and she is good at what she does especially as she is following in her grandfathers footsteps. Fletch used to be special forces and now he and other team members have there own company called Silver Arrow Security and they safeguard priceless pieces and there next assignment is to guard The Grenadine Necklace which is on loan to the museum. When Claire and Fletch meet the attraction and chemistry between them is so strong but they both have a job to do and there is too much at stake and then there cat and mouse games start but there are people who will do anything to get what they want and that brings danger and a target on Claire’s back but will Fletch be able to help her. There are twists and turns along the way along with great characters and a storyline that will pull you in and then you get a cliffhanger ending that will have you needing the next book to find out what will happen next for Claire and Fletch. I really enjoyed reading this book and I can’t wait to read the next one.

The first thing I want to say is just—wow. I honestly, never thought that I would like this book, but the premise just seemed to hook me in.

Yes, there are smut scenes. Yes, they are steamy. Are they a bore to go through? No.

I myself am not a big fan of smut scenes in my romance books. But the way the author carefully wrote them into the story made it seem almost natural and entertaining.

The female lead, Claire, in all her master jewel thief glory, was cocky and intelligent in all the right ways. Fletch, our male lead, is perfectly suited for her. He has a sense of justice and undying love for Claire that is exactly what she needed.

I love how, although there are smut scenes, it didn’t take away from the plot line, and in fact, I think it made it better and made me wanting more.

There were some parts I giggled at, especially in Fletcher’s point of view of him talking about how he needed Claire in all the most sexual ways possible. I don’t think it was intended to be funny, but it entertained me in a good way nonetheless.

To Love a Thief is a book I definitely recommend for someone who’s looking for an enemies to lovers book that is great in all the right places.

I received an ARC for free, and am happily & voluntarily leaving a review.

Although a duet, but the book was a fully developed and satisfying story. And "the rest of the story" as they say, is due to be released just next month, so no super long wait. Claire, along with her friend Mia are on a mission to right a wrong, stealing jewels with shady provenance and return them to their rightful owners. Fletch is the owner of Silver Arrow Security, hired to protect a priceless necklace. These two are immediately attracted to each other, even though Claire knows he could arrest her and Fletch suspects she may be hiding something. Philosophically these two are on opposites sides regarding the means justifying the ends, but ultimately their attraction wins out and the heat between these two burns hot. But there are other players in the mix who are after Claire and she decides to protect those she loves. I love these two characters except for Claire's decisions at the end. I get what she's trying to do, but it never works. The hint of something between Mia and Carter was intriguing and I hope the author explores this more. I'm more than looking forward to the second half of the story.

I’ve been a long time reader of Delta James, across multiple series over the years.
Have they been steamy? Yup. Have they had plots? Ones that have grabbed & kept me? Absolutely. Were the male MC fierce, dominating, gorgeous? Were the female MC strong, feisty, beautiful? Yes!!! Did they make me care? About the people, the times, the challenges? Without question ! Can I name my favorite couple? The last story I read!….and this brings me to … To Love a Thief.
Fletch & Claire are explosive, in the best way. Instalove? Yes…but I believe in instalove; I’ve seen it in real life. May not be commonplace, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen. They were each fabulous on their own, till they realized the other completed them.
Delta draws me in, to feel what they feel and become part of the journey. And journey it is. Plot, remember?
Not every storyteller can reach the level that Delta James does. And, because of that, I have to finish now, so that I can read book 2. 😉. I’ll let you know when I’m done. Get this book. Read it. (P.S.: I received a free ARC, but am voluntarily leaving a review….it’s THAT GOOD!!)

I am so invested in this story and cannot wait to read the second part. This is NOT a paranormal book like this author usually writes, but it is still as engrossing. It is very well written book. The well-research work the author did in order to write a book about the stolen art/jewellery comes through on every page.

Claire and Fletch are so good together, even though they are on opposite sides of the fence. Claire, thanks to her thief grandfather, has a mission that puts her at odds with the law, certain individuals who obtained the art/jewellery unlawfully and the insurance companies who turned a blind eye when they insured it all. Fletch, ex-military and now the owner of a high-end security company has been hired to protect a priceless necklace. The story of Claire and Fletch becomes tangled as each tried to fulfill their missions but finds they are instantly attracted to each other. A very riveting story and I look forward to reading the next book.

Claire is all about helping those who were wronged and getting justice for them. Having become quite the accomplished thief, (taking after her grandfather) she is set to steal a highly guarded necklace. Ryland is hired to protect the necklace and make sure it makes it back to the owner. Having done his homework, he is on to the pattern of the thefts, and has even done his homework on the patrons who visited the gallery. He became infatuated with Claire, something that hasn’t happened in forever.

Things turn dicey, feelings are caught between the two and someone is out to take out Claire. Will Ryland be able to protect her and will Claire stick around to let him? These 2 are meant to be together, but Ryland has conditions and doesn’t understand Claire’s need to find justice. The cliffhanger will leave you on the edge of your seat. I cannot wait for the next book to come out to see what happens! Will secrets be revealed? Will the past finally come out? I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Claire Mitchell is a woman of many talents. By day, she is a Doctor of Art Conservation, and by night she is a master jewel thief, liberating Nazi-stolen jewels and returning them to their rightful owners. When she literally bumps into Fletch, it is the first night of the rest of her life. He is drawn to her, and claims her. She falls in love with him, but is unwilling to give up her life to join him. They are at an impasse. The next book will finish their story.

This first half of the Relentless Pursuit Duet is fantastic, just as I have come to expect from Delta James. Claire is saucy and strong. She is Fletch's light. When they are torn apart, I half expected him to roar at the moon. This book ends on a cliffhanger, but luckily the author loves us all enough to not make us wait too long for the conclusion.

I received an advance review copy of this book, and am voluntarily leaving my honest review.
