This book is based on the Monarch migration. They gather information all over the United States to find out when the butterflies are heading towards California and then they throw a butterfly festival.

This was a good story that gave readers a lot of information about Monarchs as well as a story about their migration.

Great little book about Monarch butterflies and their migratory pattern told in the form of a story about a little girl who lives in a town that the butterflies migrate through. Well told and great little snippets of science throughout.

This is a cute early chapter book about butterflies, especially monarchs, told by 4th grader Ellie, during her migration to Melville, California for a few months. The book does a good job of balancing story, illustrations, and side text boxes of non-fiction information. I also really enjoy how the book shows a school and community learning project, rather than just school.
