When he had finished making the big red kite the maker gave it the name, Obstreperous ... because it was obstreperous. It swooped on Mrs Pinch and dived at Mr Crinkle and then it climbed higher and higher and higher.
This was one of my all-time favorite children's books. I loved then (and still do) using the word in conversation. I just recently found a copy of the book (used, of course) and purcased it.
This story about a boy and his obstreperous kite is sure to please every child out there.
Amazing reprint of a book from 1969! This is a wonderful tale of perception and creativity; older readers will see a clear message about freedom here while young children will enjoy this story of a little boy who makes his own kite. If you are a fan of the work of Shel Silverstein then you will really enjoy this book!
