I don't think I have ever given a book full marks that wasn't science fiction, fantasy or horror, let alone a 'chic-lit', but I really did enjoy this.

Isabel is 43 and pregnant. But that is the least of her problems. Unbeknown to her, the day she chooses to tell her husband about the baby, is the day he had chosen to tell her he was leaving for another woman. Her next door neighbour is suicidal, one of her best friends has fallen in love and wants to move to Spain, her other friend is having marital problems of her own, and both her older children are suffering the normal teenage issues. But as she fights to bring her own life under some sort of control, so everyone else around her seems to be doing the same.

It was a great read, with good characters and although you felt like punching Michael for being such a b*****d, you still identified with him. I had to love Jenny, the neighbour, researching the bridges along the Thames in an effort to decide which one to jump off - a brilliant touch. Not bad for a book I picked out of the 20p bin at the local cheap shop!
