The lives of a lonely factory worker and an abandoned robot become intertwined as the man struggles to complete his life's work - a mysterious contraption that he must keep secret from the outside world. Winner of the 2011 Gene Day Award for Self-Publishing.
This is a very quick read (the Sunday funnies will take you longer), but there's a lot being said within the few pages. On the surface, it appears to be a set of goofy stories about a robot and a human factory worker. However, it turns out to be quite a melancholy tale of loneliness and longing.
